This furball trying to help my village put a big smile on my face.
Wouldn’t mind some “pets” for extra defense. Wolves would be fine, too (like dog kennels).

On one of my maps I had 5 wolf dens just outside my village. A group of raiders ran right through the dens and were murdered by the wolves BEFORE they reached the village.

They are lured by meat storage, so have some smoke houses near a root cellar and let them keep bait in stock. I have not actually tried this myself, because I tend to hunt bears for their pelts.
The hunter should be able to foster bear cubs and have a tamed bear as early entertainement !

Really hope that training animals will be a thing some day in FF.
Mostly horses and dogs (wolves) probably.
We already got fences in game, wonder if that build around a hunters cabin could be a primer for a training pen.
