This was a bit strange. Two infants already died in this house due to exposure, even though there was firewood available elsewhere in storage, but the two adults kept “Seeking shelter” in the house instead of going out to get firewood.
And then the game decided to place two new infants in this house, who immediately started dying of exposure as well because the two adults, again, kept cowering inside instead of getting firewood (as you can see, there is more than enough available in the village).
Why do my villagers prefer to let their children die over just going outside for a trip to the firewood splitter? And is there a way to publicly execute these two adults for the wrongful deaths of four children?
Why should they have to go all the way to the firewood splitter? Markets stock firewood. They should be kept supplied, then villagers don’t have as far to go.
Sure, but if the market doesn’t have stock and the splitter has, they still should go.
But in this case, clicking on the two adults showed they were actually sheltering in a temporary shelter far away and didn’t bother returning to their main shelter the entire winter. So the two 1-year old infants were just left alone in the shelter in the village, which makes no sense obviously.
And when they died, the game just sent two new infants, and when they died, another set. If the winter hadn’t ended my entire supply of infants would have been sacrificed in that one shelter I think.
But the markets should be kept supplied. The transport of food and other resources from source to processing to the villagers lacks a great deal right now. I keep having ample stores of food here and there in storage, but it never gets to the villagers, and I end up showing 0 food when I really have a goodly amount that is not getting distributed.
