This is a minor complaint, but I was wondering: is there any reason for why kids’ models and clothing, regardless of their sex, look so similar?
When I first started playing the game, I noticed there were two child character models and that they were both boys with short hair and a short tunic with leggings. I interpreted them as boys because this is a game based on medieval times, and little girls didn’t have short hair or wear such clothes back then. This annoyed me because it seemed a bit unfair not to have a unique model for girls… but whatever. I thought maybe a more era-appropriate girl model would be added later on. It is Early Access, after all.
It took me months of playing to realize that girls do have their own character model. It’s just that their hair is braided on top of their heads - making it look short - and from a distance they look almost indistinguishable from the boys. I had to really study the models to notice this.
I’m no expert in medieval children’s clothing but I’m pretty sure little girls generally wore long smocks and tunics down to their ankles, not the thigh-length tunics they wear in the game. Since effort has been made to visually distinguish male and female adults in the game by their clothing and in the context of the era that inspires this game, could we perhaps get some similar visual distinction between the children?
