Chthonian Omens have a chaos shotgun attack where their fire 3 times 5 projectiles in a “fan” configuration:
This skill has a 10 second cooldown. If you remain at melee range, they respect this 10 second cooldown.
But there’s a bug where Chthonian Omens ignore this cooldown after they use their teleport:
So if you kite them, they will repeatedly shotgun+teleport+shotgun every couple of seconds, completely ignoring their 10 second cooldown.
This bug also happens to Chthonian Omen heroes like Goroth’Zoth - Shielded both the regular versions and the ones that come from void-touched chests.
Well, basically, when you see a delay on Medium- and Long-range skills the delay is only applied in melee. Forces ranged characters (which have inherently more survivability in most ARPGs) to keep moving, or be extremely tanky.
Edit: oh, it might also be a punishment for melee characters who run away, for ennemies not to be too easy to cheese.
I don’t know how this is so hard for you to grasp, but we have a very simple policy here, we read what you post, but we cannot respond to everything, and we can’t and won’t get into intimate detail about everything just because somebody asks.
We are grateful to everyone that shares their feedback and bug reports, but there is not enough time in the day to personally respond to everybody. Our first priority is to make the actual games. I’m literally on here for seconds at a time, usually when something is checking in.
I have a responsibility to my teams to spend my day addressing their issues, and when I’m not doing that trying to get MY workload done, not giving someone on the forum a personal run down of the status of their laundry list of threads. As important as they might be to you, you are one out of thousands of people, all with their own wants. Am I supposed to get into a philosophical debate every time somebody posts here asking why we made X or Y design decision? According to you, that’s dismissive. But their post has just as much worth as yours.
Also, it’s incredibly telling how quickly your attitude in the DMs changed from apologetic to hostile as soon as you didn’t get what you wanted, despite me being under no obligation to respond to you in the first place. Congratulations for being the final straw that had me disable DMs.
No one said anything about hostility, certainly not me. I simply wanted to know whether these matters are being addressed. How else am I supposed to find out if I don’t ask? That has nothing to do with being hostile. We players, too, want to know where things stand.
And I fully understand that I’m surely not the only one pestering you with questions like these. My apologies.
A suggestion:
Could we set up a new topic in the forum, a “to-do list” showing what is currently being worked on? In other words, a place where we can see whether bugs, requests, or feedback are being taken into account. It wouldn’t need to be a guarantee that things will definitely be fixed, just a way for us as players to know that our input has been acknowledged and logged. Is that too much to ask? (Not a to-do list for new features, just an indication that you are working on the bugs or suggestions that have been reported.)
Please don’t take this the wrong way; as a long-time player, I’d just like to know what’s going on, whether I can hold out hope that some of these issues might be resolved. I didn’t write to you for no reason, after all. I have a specific list of topics, and I have absolutely no idea if any of them are being addressed. That’s why I asked, nothing more, nothing less. And it was certainly not intended to be hostile, so please, let’s keep things in perspective.
not understanding the intention (kite punishment etc potentially) is not the same as not being an answer to attack function.
There’s a difference in explaining the details how mechanics work vs confirming it’s not a bug/“functioning correctly”
I think it’s sorta simple; it’s not default standard that devs explain to players every interaction in a game/every attack-battle-enemy patters.
“Devs aren’t our game wikis”
And like here Z has also said multiple times to not always expect things to be 1:1 to GT, because GT reads the game data in a certain way. And it’s also not really Dammitt’s fault, since he does the best he can do too with what he has to work with. (take a look at the game files/tables and you’ll see )
Gnomi, we’re talking about two different things here: on one hand, the actual topic of the thread, and on the other, a private discussion with Z.
Both, however, revolve around the same core issue, a player wanting to know something, whether it’s about a suspected bug (like the one described here) or something else they can’t figure out. In my case, I had about 10 open questions.
Honestly, I feel a bit bad about pestering him with all that, but what else can you do when you want to find something out? If I get stuck, the only person I can ask is the developer. This has nothing to do with Dammitt or GT, at least, not in my case.
aye, but in the essence it’s the same thing; we cannot expect devs to be our little personal answer machine.
Hence the they don’t write our wikis comment too
anecdotal example, i know Z has the “private pings are srs”, and i still double questioned myself whether to report what i thought might be an impactful issue in private, simply incase it might been redundant(potentially already aware), while being super busy on FoA launch
i tried doing a quick glance to see if controller files might display something with this, but doesn’t seem like it did/controller tables are related to other things (but again, i suck at reading the tables )
In my understanding, this is not a true cooldown, but the AI setting of enemies. It is very possible that this pseudo cooldown works in different ways.
Idk, observe what happens in the game and learn from it?
You start off the wrong foot if you are assuming that grimtools information is correct and observed monster behavior during gameplay is wrong.
