Civilian Defence and Water Crossings

Hey guys,

After 40 hours in i have to say this is a great game which is almost ready, i’ve loved it so far despite the pre-release bugs. A few things i’d personally like to see in the game:

  • Civilians can’t defend themselves. They just run around hapless. I recon it’d be cool if you could build a Militia barracks and have like different gold cost upgrades for tiered training for civilians that make them able to run and get a weapon from the militia barracks or store room and put up a measly but at least something defense.

  • I’d like to see Iron ingots in the resource menu, it’s a very critical resource that i would like to keep track of just like Gold or logs

  • Soldiers to be far more independent instead of so micromanagy. Like they leave their own barracks on their own accord to attack raiders on a certain setting or you can set patrol routes (manning a wall would be super rad too!)

  • A way to explore the map without manual intervention like a dedicated explorer or explore functions on hunters/people who can defend themselves from predators

  • A way to cross bodies of water and maybe maps with islands. Like we could build a ferryman for an ongoing gold cost and upgrade it to a Barge for resources and heavier things/more people at once etc. That could also make for an exciting upgrade to the combat when the raiders boat in down the river and wreck you like the orcs in lord of the rings TROTK.

  • Some sort of medieval combat DLC down the track where we can make fortresses like moats, flame arrows (new resource, TAR or something), dedicated crossbowmen and dedicated infantry etc

  • A way to create a stone substitute like a building that makes masonry from clay, sand and iron ingots or something. They can create a stone substitute that costs more resources but isn’t as strong or something.

  • A third wall/gate upgrade. Including iron into it like an Iron gate would be rad.

Keep up the good work!
