i rebuilt maul to rumor and some other devotions.

becouse on testing dummi viper doesnt affect dps exept icon above it

or looks like seems I use tremor then 225%-60%=165%weapon damage then it reduced by 25% so its only 41%weapon damage and viper will affect 41% of 20% =8%

I recommend you to read a paragraph on Resistance reduction from here: Malawiglenn’s guide on game mechanics for beginners - Google Docs

From this you may conclude why Viper’s type of RR is the worst of a kind. Also since Viper gives its RR as a stat it needs Weapon damage skills to work and scales with it up to 100% so it’s even worse / doesn’t do anything if you don’t have it. i.e. Hand of Ultos RR is different, works always in 100% effect because it’s on a proc but still kinda bad being % Reduced Resistances worst kind of RR.

225% forcewave, then -60% weapon damage = 165%weapon damage, so it reduced resist by 20%
and -25% to total damage modifier affects it??

25% of 165=41% so 165-41=124%

Yes it’s still 20% Reduced Target’s Resistances but it won’t decrease monster resistances by 20% in a way like Rumor and Silver Sentinel decrease Resistance by 12% and 23% because it’s multiplicative not additive like them which makes it much worse 99% of the time. More in the guide linked.

Although for your Battlemage Viper might be somewhat useful because you build in a non-standard way (no X Reduced Target Resistances) and have class with no -% Cold RR.

And you’ll have instant application of Viper and your procs with RR might take longer too apply so your build is like a perfect case for Viper to do something and %X Reduced Target’s Resistances.

The thing is dummy doesn’t have 80% resistance.
It has 0 / 8 / 13 Cold Res depending of difficulty.

becouse from viper page its scales down with weapon damage less than 100%

… and where it does have % Weapon Damage, the value will act as a multiplier for the Reduced Resistances; for example Callidor’s Tempest, with 12% Weapon Damage, will only lower enemy resistances by 12% of 20% ( i.e. 2.4%)

so base forcewave damage is 225% . tremor gives minus 60%weapon damage (165%???) and then total damage modified by -25% , so 25% of 165 = 124%

main hand damage without tremor (225%) 19875-23284
main hand damage with tremor 14906-17463

does still tremor dmg count as dmg more then 100%weapon dmg?

somehow I easy killed cold enchanted mobs and alkamos but Grand Priest Zarthuzellan is a pain takes 10minutes to kill. probably still need more RR. (from set and lvlup murmur) maybe I need nulllify him sometimes I dont know
without nem and her blizzard I deal 0 dmg to him. I think about switch blizzard and rumor with nem but I prefer stay away from mobs with forcwave

is that the cold force wave battlemage is more of a meme than a real build, hopefully you will finish the campaign

I still have not set sentinel and alkamos rings its a build basis
with rings nem would deal a lot dmg
so I still farming my build, currently start farming
also I get stronger

medal already is a bis, pants probably too

what happens is that the sentinel and alkamos set are for the night blade mastery, like the nemesis relic, these do not benefit you with any ability
