Collective Builds from a Private Chinese Community

Played with a Chinese guy in MP the other day, he refused to believe you don’t need 4500DA to beat 170 solo, haha.

Thanks

Comparatively speaking, Infiltrator is more suitable to play rune than magehunter. But I set the target to play a rune magehunter.

In general rune magehunter BD is a dominant skillplay show. With max CDR it brings more visual entertainment, faster placement of runes and quicker responses to certain skills. But to be frank, 5% physical resistance and low DA and AR, and “unhealthy” health, all are very challengable to whomever wants to copy this BD. But I like it though.

Both rune BDs are hard to forge. Especially for magehunter.

Yes
There are several factors to rune(Hagarrad) damage
1 number of projectiles
it depends on gears

2 bonuses and res reduction
it depends on gears , skills/ masteries and devotion options

3 conversion of base damage type
it depends on gears, mostly from piercing to cold, or to add more cold damage

4 CDR - timespan between 2/more runes
5 distance between monster location and damage center of runes
4&5 is one matter. Because rune damage is central-accumulative. So you’ll have make sure monters stand on the very center and place as many runes as possible. So there’s 2 ways to do it, longer timespan, heavier damage for each one ; or faster casting and quicker placement with relatively reduced damage.

The core to master runes is to find ways to offset its load time. 1.5S for each rune is enough time for nemesises to spill blood.

Thereforth the surviavability is the essential matter.

for magehunter ,I applied maximized CDR to mirror and runes as the copping method to load time .
for infiltrator , I applied health regen as the copping method to load time .

I guess DA is more understandable and popular for gamers all over the world. But my personal builds have always been unorthodox, low heath, DA ,physical res. etc. :stuck_out_tongue:

Introducing to this community a sick combination

BTW in my video, I actually forgot to use granted Touch of Purity, 'cause I wrongfully thought it’s on hit.

Thanks for the nice magehunter rune build ABC!
I actually have some doubt that rune build is viable for the new crucible. Mostly because of their delay activation mechanism. But fortunately you have proven it wrong.

Thank you for that
I thought you guys had found a way to somehow reduce the “arm time” of the Rune. That’s the reason why i dislike that skill. Not implying it’s bad, it’s a pretty solid skill

Between the 2 rune BDs, I suggest to play the infiltrator, it’s friendly to anytype of players. and … magehunter Rune BD, well I guess only a handful of people can play it ~~:p It’s rigorous on playstyle

The arm time is aweful and tricky. I almost deleted my magehunter for its fragility, especally when to hold monters till runes tigger.

I am planning deceiver build with both runes and full runebinder set.
Like you said, I maximize healing with WoR and BoD for coping with rune delay mechanism.
But I still had doubt on its viability.

Added Battlemage at #2 Post ~!

Touch of Purity’s a great skill, and it’s awesome to see it being used in Gladiator. It was nice that Crate gave the granted skill to the Mythical version in the last update, it’s much more useful now.

You were the one that posted the original Thundercats pet video in 1.0.0.6, weren’t you? Is the person who came up with that build still playing and are there any others like him?

With those builds (5 K DA, low OA, etc…), is it possible to enjoy the main campaign in ultimate or is it only crucible-orientated ? I wonder if the lack of OA / dps is compatible with the main game. Because if you need 50 min to kill the warder, that is not really enjoyable
Thanks for sharing anyway.

You can check out the kill speeds of those builds in the vids.

They probably don’t have amazing kill speeds, but their stats aren’t that bad.

Yes. The saddening story was after I posted that BD, it received great nerf…~~~

He is still playing pet builds. But currently he hasn’t figured out how to nail 170 yet.

Once we have a solid 170 BD, I will surely share it with this community

All crucible BDs are defense-oriented. Hence defense elements are excessive .
To apply that to main game, you’ll just have to get rid of the extra defense, which is very easy, on the contrary, to adjust a main game build to fit in crucible is extremely hard.

That’s what I was thinking. That Purifier build seems to prioritize DA over everything else. Purifier build I’m following has 1400 DA less but then it probably can’t do Gladiator Crucible.

Congratulations for the creativity of the builds.

Thank you for sharing these builds and the rationale behind them, very interesting !

I have a question concerning your own build (Callidor Spellbinder by ABCbarbecue)- Grim tools : https://www.grimtools.com/calc/D2p0v1j2

I understand this build focus on kiting, chaining Mark of Torment and Mirror with CDR/Time Dilation and thus you can get by without a lot of HP or DA.

I enjoy theorycrafting different devotion setup and being probably (certainly!) not as skilled as you are, was trying to see if I could have a more defense oriented setup. I would be very interested by feedback on these variants. I’m not sure how effective/useful Phoenix and Spear of the heavens are, in late Crucible 150+.

https://www.grimtools.com/calc/RZRR5OvZ
Spear of the Heavens, Phoenix, Giant’s blood, Bat (almost identical to yours except for Bat wich should do a lot of dmg just with weapon dmg + good sustain/proc rate)

https://www.grimtools.com/calc/a2dwnwAN
Tree of Life, Giant’s blood, Bat, Imp (lots of HP regen, Tree helps with Devastation energy cost, Imp’s Aether fire bound to Devastation is a lot of dmg). I kinda like this one and nice group heal also.

https://www.grimtools.com/calc/r2BkWMrV
Dryad, Ishtak, Bat (lots of damage absorption, healing through Dryad / not great I think because no tanky pets to fully use the Ishtak proc)

thanks in advance for input, lots of great insight contributed by many in this thread, love this game and it’s community
