Yes there were alot of changes to affixes, baseitems and how loot is distributed accross the board, beside that alot changed internally, so the lost unfortunatly happened but hey it is still not version 1.0 so that shall be no problem i think. Thank you as always for you feedback, highly appreciated
i really think the added amount, at least for the health value, is not too much over the powerlevel you can achieve already for the start of the game, maybe a bit for new players as you correctly pointing out because they are simply overwhelmed i think it really feels GRIM and like the world is against you, but that is absolutly intended i am not the âbest arpg playerâ by far but made various playthroughts, all on veteran and landed in elite, mostly used everything and often tried to simulate the behaviour of certain playertypes, it really can vary how hard it can be i would say, also about the Archetypes, the difficulty can extremly vary depending on their encounter combination â i think there is a point which has to be adjusted a bit more again for the transition to elite/ultimate, because i think THERE it really starts to get heavy if you donât use EVERYTHING the mod already provides, me even think that it is not HC viable at this point if you donât use everything, and even then its HARD, yes, no doubt
There will be alot changes still coming to balance this out, the whole picture is big, and painting it out is a beast of a workload for me Cool you coming back to see what changed, in the next update i target the Archetypes, on which i work atm, we will see how this will work out in those terms already noted alot of things that simply were the cause of RIPPING players EASILY without a chance⊠sorry for this! ;D looks good so far, learned alot new, again see the video above with the upcoming lasers for the Arcane Archetype
coming back to the point that players might get overwhelmed â yes absolutly understandable, even myself it partially overdosed by all the new stuff xD so do not worry, i have already thought about it, and MAYBE (not tested yet) i can bring essential modinformations to the Codex Gamehelp panel, with some detailed informations the player REALLY needs to know and can view them anytime in a structured way, maybe with some added TAG onscreen announcements to get (mostly) new players into direction. I donât think the given items at the beginning are overdosing, it simply has to be introduced a bit better, and that might be a solution for this.
About introducing Archetypes â spawning Hero Archetypes does happen at lvl 12ish+ i would say, and without turned on Grimmest Difficulty Mode i do not see any issue with that mechanic as i simply see it WAY too boring without this added, all the time, from where it originally starts with herospawns therefor all Archetypes have a scaling added to their skills.
Great you play again, a few new things to check out mate The next update will change the overall grind visually again a bit more ;D also found another crash cause in Burning and Frozen Archetype btw⊠xD if you get the debuff und hover over your resistances it might crash ;D had to do with their added melee radius for whatever reason, idkw tbh but fixed for next update aswell, while turning the world of Cairn into ice and fire xD
Regarding 1. I still think i disagree a bit But we can discuss this in discord, so i donât spam the thread I think youâre right that the player can have significant power from lvl 2, but spawning as a hobo with no items in shared stash is really tough, and again, i get itâs supposed to be difficult, iâm just worried it might turn off new players.
Regarding 2., the codex is a very good idea. And i was mostly thinking that the player just receives so many items from level 2 (no armor/weapons though haha). I mostly imagine that introducing the special items at the start would be smoother if it was done over the first few quests, but it seems you already have an idea for this.
No i have just joined the official discord. You can pm me anytime to not clutter the threads, here or in discord
yes it is true, but i like it to be a great challenge, at least in my opinion granted power for hard challenge feels more enjoyable but i know this is not for everyone and therefor i introduced that tiny âbuff mechanicâ at the start for new characters in Normal/Veteran, but i think that can even be a bit contraproductive while you feel safe and then the buff is gone you simply are âmostlyâ not geared up for the given difficulty, that can beat you down hard then xD have to do more testing after Archetypes for this but i think i have to do this someway different, like give the initial buff inside of the Shattered Realm ONLY or even remove it completly for version 1.0 we will see how it can reach an optimal state.
the added melee radius skill was not the issue, it still crashed xD it was because the debuff had a wrong cast-template that tried to cast the debuff, which was leading to this crash while hovering characters resistances was driving me a bit mad xD but well, at least NOW it is fixed you can easily reproduce it, simply find a Frozen/Burning Archetype, get their debuff and hover your resistances xD
Ended up playing mostly SR and farming for Gambling Shards yesterday. And Ashbrain, i gotta tell you⊠SR feels SO good now! The changes to density/completion timer are just . Even though i kept dying because of my⊠quesitonable vitality res hahaha. D3 boss balance is way better as well (at least in shards <100U).
Realised that legendaries are available for purchase from the vendors too, which i like! I have a question though: I noticed that gambling at D3 gambler, items will consistently roll from a seemingly narrow pool of mods (+OA, +DA, +OA%, +DA%, +A.Speed% etc), is this intended?
That is great to hear! Keep pushing :)) And you see, it is really not too hard but it is partially absolutly on itâs edge for sure xD Very good!
Yes this is intended, all new blacksmiths and Ashdim himself have new compeltionbonus affixes added when crafting/gambling/exchanging/shattering, the value for this affix will raise in that order, means you get the highest value of it from the Shattering Blacksmith.
The ability to level your Omega Level in Elite now aswell is pretty new, so yes you must remember it wrong mate
Do not worry, there is a plan to reintegrate craftproofs from the original mod to make use of your highest Omega Level for both difficulty levels and also all your other chars to not start over and over again, starting elite then to get the power we need for ultimate
EDIT1: while in Elite there is no random ONB-spawn active from Bossmonsters, so donât be afraid this will stay Ultimate exclusive!
Ahh cool! Nice to hear! And ONBs are fine, especially if theyâre Ultimate exclusive, not gonna complain!
Open question for anyone looking: What are some fun builds to try? What powerful items have you guys found? Iâm curious Iâm playing a EoR Warlord (boooooring, i know), and itâs been pretty good! Besides the fact that i canât be bothered to swap equipment around to fix my resists, it manages just fine in SR Ultimate, with the occasional death. Tired of playing melee though, wanna try a caster maybe, but donât know what to play.
PS: I noticed that under shattered affixes there is this juicy text:
while time went on, many textclusters in the pdf contain some outdated text for sure, and especially on the things at the bottom really a picky part to do, but have already started to clean, but it became quickly alot so do not wonder but anyways, i will check for that affix to be correct, there is so many space for errors :DD find more, i note everything and fix them, as usual at least in the best way i can btw, have you noticed that there are also ânew Ringsâ, maybe you also missed them, Rings of Royal Grandeur, which can also give you some options on those builds you play as it acts like the original in D3, yes works for all basegame sets aswell, already got some cool combos out of it ;D
Aw sweet, so itâs intended? That might be fun! Hard to pick gear though, those Exotic items are JUICY And yeah i noticed those rings, have to farm a bunch of those hahaha, same with skill gems! Canât really be bothered to farm ONBs or much SR currently. Am just messing around with the new items and mechanics in conclave, testing skill and item interactions. I noticed also shattered affixes for D3 items! Thatâs so cool! Nice job man! Although they donât look as clearly powerful as some of the regular ones
have not checked it yet but think yes, it is intended
great you having fun! me working on the archetypes and it is going very good, 3 more and then the 3 that i missed on first attempt â Diseased, Reflective and Supporter â already have some cool ideas for their addon skill, we will se what is possible (for me)
About fun/powerful characters, in the last months i mostly played the D3 classes while testing them and mostly loved the Witchdoctor with its pets, the Wizard with its Frostray and the Demonhunter with its Chakras have tested all kinds of combinations, would not say have greatly min/maxed or played a specific âbuildâ but i bet you can âupgradeâ any build that there is currently now to a stronger one, even alot more possibilities to make it work as previously spoken So simply play what you like, even just with this âlittleâ amount of extra classes i think the replayabilty is greatly improved, at least i hope so xD
First time GD player, and using your mod. Iâm around level 40, and seem to be having some trouble with gear. The XP potion got me to act 3 pretty quickly, but I noticed that my gear is really bad and resulting in lots of deaths. Is there any thing with this mod that can help me get geared up? I tried shard gambling, but itâs just giving me green gear that is worse than what I already have
Sorry for this, but will try to help the best way i can to provide you some help
It is clearly NOT an easy mod as you might have already seen while searching for your tombstone ;D but, there are several things that might help you, one thing for sure as you already mentionend is the Gambling Mechanic, really wondering why you got nothing good out of it, maybe unlucky furthermore, have you checked the Exchange NPCâs aswell? there you are able to trade in your Combo Orbs for nearly EVERY basegame item + D3 that is available. in addition you should, if you not have, equip an Immortal Merc T1 to your chest as described in the tiny lorenote you got from The Emissary in the beginning as first questreward for new modcharacters. also the new tiny Mini Pets, from which you can have 4 active at any given time, are really helpfull with filling your resistances. furthermore you can craft Aether Clusters now to help on the most evil encounters, enough materials should be available at the usual spots if you have NOT spoken to the Emissary, check his questrewards, even if NOT want to start with the SR and/or the starterbuff
It is partially pretty HARD, absolutly but also pretty good doable up to âelite endgameâ if you use the mentionend things above the transition from Elite to Ultimate seems to me the only big issue on this at this moment, because that is really HEAVY HARD for the majority, this will be adjusted over time to bring this part to a better state for sure not undoable there, but really needs a good build with some very nice upgrades then it âcanâ cut through butter aswell xD but well, balance is an ongoing process and we will get there at some point
Thatâs weird, he went down super fast for me while the zombies just tanked my dmg. Might be a fluke, will test with another char sometime soon.
Running through act one on a Demon Hunter ATM, and i have to say, only the first few levels are slow. The exotic gear is really strong, helps out massively with damage after level 5. It does make me wonder though, how do casters perform? They do not get big damage boosts from weapons that early on. Have you tested it?
recently was playing a Bleed Occ on playthrough, had no big issues yet up to end of gdx2 but still in normal/veteran with it due to lack of time
did more testings, i think it can happen on low level due to the boss monster is maybe not prepared for this levelrange, will see whatâs going on tomorrow
as you can see, Barrog has nearly the same health as his minions xD a step further ahead at Kyzogg everything seems normal, so it canât be too serious thank you for letting me know!
