Coming back after 4 years searching for help choosing class

Hi Together.
I made a break from Grim Dawn since 2020 I think.
Now I began again after Diablo 4 massacre.
Now to my question:
What class is good to get back?
I already played up a warlord but not pretty satisfied with it.
Last time I played I played Ret Warlord but it seems that it isn’t good anymore?
I like to play melee with shield most of the time.

Would be nice to get some help.

If you wanna play melee with shield, Warlord is still the best class for you.

I would recommend blitz+shattering smash instead of retaliation for a less boring experience though.

Yes, all of them can be fun for melee.

Archon and Warder are both top notch choices

I think i made a warder already last time i played.
Any suggestions for an archon build?
