Common Sense Rules for Build Posting

When posting a build or feedback on a build, consider some common sense rules…

  • Always respect our Forum Guidelines.

  • Just because somebody posts on the internet does not mean that you have to reply to it. Someone post something that makes you really angry? Don’t answer. Or take some time to cool off and post in a mature and constructive manner later. Senseless back and forth internet arguments that are based purely on subjective or emotional responses are a waste of your time and ours.

  • Don’t be an asshole. At the end of the day, the people here are just other gamers like you. They are playing this game for fun and want to be a part of the community. When you beat people down, you are just removing another contributor to the game you enjoy.

  • Post how your build performs. There are many common parameters by which builds are gauged, including boss kill times, Crucible clears and Shattered Realm Shards reached. If you want tips, I’m sure veterans of the community will help you out!

  • Give credit. If you based your build on someone else’s be sure to give them credit for their efforts. I’m sure they will appreciate it!

  • If someone breaks the forum rules, report it to the moderators. Don’t take it upon yourself to try and resolve a problem individual. This is the internet and assholes will be assholes. Let us clean them up. If you get on their level, you’ll just get caught by the ban-hammer too.

  • Not every criticism is an attack on you. Some people genuinely want to help you make a better build, they may just not always present it in the most neutral manner. No need to look for enemies where none exist.

  • Likewise, be mindful of how you present your criticism. There is a difference between offering someone constructive critique on their build and personally attacking them or their intelligence.
