Create a new function so we can see in one place a list of all the buildings under construction or that need resources to be repaired. At the top of the window it will show total committed resources, which is each resource followed by the total of it needed to complete all buildings. Then a list that shows for each building:
Type of building
Icons that indicate:
(1) if site needs to be cleared, or
(2) if the building needs repairs, or
(3) building was destroyed and needs to be rebuilt
Amounts of resources needed to complete it
Magnifying glass button that jumps to the building location
Check box to enable/disable construction
Check box to prioritize construction
Check box to get a notification when building is complete
I would be happy just to have a list of buildings where we could click on a building type and jump to that building. If there are multiple buildings of the same type, jump to the first one built and then cycle through using the arrows. Right now the list takes you to one of the villagers working at that building type, who are often somewhere else.
Such a list could also include those buildings under construction and allow you to click and jump to the build location.
That was one of the things that got me to this idea. To cycle using the arrow is nice but there’s no easy way to find the first one… like you have to know where one is to find the rest. After a while I can’t remember exactly where I put things especially after I close the game for a while and come back. I would check this construction summary when I come back in to refresh my memory on what’s going on.
The other thing that happens when I don’t remember what’s in the building queue is I overcommit resources, especially gold. Maybe I had plenty when I placed it, but in the time it took to clear the site there’s not so much gold. Then the sites get cleared, the gold gets delivered, and suddenly the soldiers are complaining about not getting paid. Yes, that’s a me problem, but there’s no easy way to know that’s about to happen.
The rest of the things I mentioned, like the check boxes are because if you make a construction list, why not go big and make it all inclusive.
