Wow, wonderful first post there.

Crate have made it clear for some years now that GD is content complete so no, no more expansions, masteries, items, etc, will be added to the game. So yes, balance patches/bugfixing is all you’re going to get.

Crate are focused on their other projects: Farthest Frontier, a town building game which will go into early access on Steam on the 9th August.

They are also working on a horror survival game plus an RTS game which they’ve said will be set on Cairn in a pre-GD era.

I’m sure your smart ass already knows that we announced Grim Dawn was content complete over 2 years ago.

You left the game uncompleted and the story is untold yet. Its absolutely dissappointing.
You must give a normal modkit for professional mod-makers and let them make dlc and earn money on GD. Its an awful crime to stop developing and improving game on 50-70%. If yon are game-dev impotents, let the comminity to finish the work on GD.

What! You don’t want any storylines left open for a possible sequel?

And the mod tools are exactly the same tools the devs use to make the game.

If you dont know in the year 2023 a book about the story of Cairn (written by russian fandom) is going to be published in one of the russian publishing houses. You’d better translate it on other languages and make some PR than make new uncompleted games.

Also - it was your duty to find professional writers to improve GD world (like WoW books series) but you failed even in this simple job.

I think the writing is just fine myself. And Crate was and is a small indie company of 15 people so not sure where you expect them to find the cash for professional writers.

Of course - no! I want to buy fully completed game (like it was in early 2000) which will not be devided into hundred dlc & 100500 pathces.

Its enough. For example - first Rebel galaxy was made by 2 (!!) people: https://rebel-galaxy.com/
and it was a good game with 88% good rewievs in Steam.

I appreciate the, uh, enthusiasm around the lore and continued story, but that is not how game development works. I also have some bad news for you: bad mouthing us and throwing insults is going to be about as effective as when little kids say they hate us when we “make” them brush their teeth.

The story of Grim Dawn was never intended to be “finished” in the sense that you were never intended to get some kind of “and they lived happily ever after” ending. So if that is what you are hoping for, you’ll be disappointed even if we pumped out DLC’s.

We are at a point with the game where the only proper course of action to continue is to develop a sequel, which don’t exactly happen overnight. But that is where the story will have to go next and if you want more official Grim Dawn content, you will have to be patient.

Mod kit is out there for any “professional” modders to do with as they will. It’s the same tools we used to make the game. None of that will be official or canon though. Likewise any story written by the fandom is not canon and I really hope they don’t plan on selling whatever they create.

WoW books are tie-in novels, most of which have been written by a writer that works for the company. Last I checked, we’re not a multi-billion dollar company, so your aspirations for our means are a bit out of scope. It would be fantastic to get more Grim Dawn content out there in other mediums, but last I checked professional don’t like getting paid in exposure.

Not sure what Rebel Galaxy has to do with this. How many tie-in novels did they pay for?

Genuinely not sure what games you were buying in 2000s that were more complete than what you got with Grim Dawn. Games back then had sequels too.

If you don’t know - its not necessary to buy Martin and pay 200-300k $ per book. In post-Soviet Union space theare many professional writers who can write a book for 3-5k $ in a few monthes and 3-5-7% of future income of the published book|game, based on that scenario. Its equal to a payment of a professional it-specialist of a one month, lol.

Honestly… I’m more surprised the devs even bothered answering this nonsense and not just directly banned ur dumb ass

Entertainment value, I guess. :eyes:

no more expansions, masteries, items, etc, will be added to the game.

Wait I know no more expansions/quests/areas, but no new items either? :frowning:

Very unlikely I think. Surely the game has enough already. :stuck_out_tongue:

No.

  • I was waiting for a normal auction (like in Diablo3), where i can change my items with other players
  • i was waiting for the lore-story about where ancient gods dissappear
  • i was waiting for the aetherial homeworld, locations/quests/
  • i was waiting for an opportunity to play for some “bad gays” like aetherials & destroy black legion (alternative scenario)
  • i was waiting for recipes for all (almost all) violet items & sets which i can by somewhere (not a few helmet recipies)
  • i was waiting for an opportunity 2 craft green items with needed prefixes without using GD stasher|tools or 100500 save-loads in game
  • i was waiting for some new locations below the devil cross where is destroyed bridge only
  • i was waiting for an opportunity to rebuild and manage some castles (like in Newerwinter2) or even kingdom (like in (bug)Pathfinder)
  • i was waiting for an opportunity to use heavy weapons, like cannons, which are represented in game
  • i was waiting for an opportunity 2 hire NPC-partners
    and lots more…

i was waiting for some events with comminity or representation the GD on Fancon or other event in real life
i was waiting for good ineteresting content about the game like books or fans novel on ficbook
i’ve bought the game and 2 dlc and was waiting for continue of the story, coz it was really interesting and original and atmosphere in game was really cool and dramatic.

but now i’am tired of waiting and the only my hope is mod-makers and books by fans, because only them now are interesting in improving the GD world, not developers unfortunately

You know - the Disney made 7,8,9 episodes of Star Wars and amount of serials now, but the old fans not think them canon even if they are made by official owners and still on wukipedias disney content about StarWars is marked like “non-canon/Disney-canon” besides the old-canon and extended canon.
