Coup de Grâce (1.1.0.0-1.1.7.2) - Venomblade, Crucible no buffs, SR 90+, Mogdrogen, Ravager, Crate of Entertainment

Respec to DW melee, Barroholm has good faction swords for Dervish
And I strongly recommend to trade for Venomblade’s head 'cause lots of players can craft it for your resources. Use faction greens for others slots

I am totally lost now  , Anyway, I will think about that when I reach Ultimate  thank you

You are welcome:)
Feel free to ask

Should I max Guardians while lvling or 1 point is enough ?

max it while lvling

https://www.grimtools.com/calc/bVAz8nRZ

this is how am lvling.Any suggestions or the skills are ok? Good I have guardians, my char is doing nothing

Funny, I levelled in a much more direct fashion - start NB, ABB/LA then max RF. Aegis + Guardians is something I do only if I go for EoR.

Well, am not familiar with leveling melee chars  that’s why am wondering. And not like I have tons of chars so basicly no experience in quick and easy lvling

When your beginner guide is coming?
Guardians have solid DPS while leveling, also you feel yourself safer with shield. Going directly to DW maybe difficult for newbies.
I would recommend lvling through Nightblade and DW weapons only for some experienced players

Somewhere near the end of May. 100% not sooner than a week from now. We did agree you could post a link to my build for levelling purpose, but I really can’t speed it up much.

It’s easier because aegis is a ranged attack rather than because it is a shield. Shield does very little that early. And honestly if you’re levelling like that then it’s better to run phys/fire before level 40-50, because a shield passive (safeguard?) would give you an edge in damage early on.

Here is the link to my build - at the present moment it appears to be working. Any help would be appreciated.

However, I have the feeling I am going to spend a lot redoing it once I get to higher levels.

I would drop Righteous Fervor and take Guardians and Celestial Presence, you even may drop some points from Aegis

Interesting. What would my Auto Attack be then? Aegis?

Would I be better off with points in nightblade?

No, ofcourse not Aegis. Your autoattack would be nothing, because Dmt suggests you play as a kiting caster by rotating aegis and mark of dreeg. But since it’s a very irregular damage she also suggests you get Guardians to fill in. If you want an autoattack variant try copying that.

Yes, personally I like very much lvling with Aegis+Guardians and respec to DW at 90lvl with Barrowholm faction swords

OMG!

Both of you are so awesome! Thank you so incredibly much for helping me!

Next Question - I am definitely going to spec to that and see how I am enjoying the playstyle. If not, I will revert to DMT’s suggested leveling build.

Where would I go next? (I see the build you sent over fleshes out my current amount of points)

Also, what dmg types am I focusing on when looking for upgrades?

It looks like for Righteous Fervor, I am still focusing on Acid/Physical - since we are converting All Physical to Acid.

Am I right to assume we don’t care about the Fire Damage to Vitality?

This is my setup at 50.

and this is at 65

Next snapshot is supposed to be 75, but I’m only 70 atm.

Yes, forget vitality.

Thanks a lot for this build! I’ve made a lot of different builds on Grim Dawn, but for some reason I’ve never done a poison/acid one. I guess I just didn’t like the concept in general, tried with this one and the damage is just absurd! Probably one of the strongest I’ve ever played with!

Early game was quite a pain, I guess I didn’t like the whole “aegis, wait for cooldown, aegis” gameplay, probably should have went with nightblade, but once I hit lv 50, reset skill points and started to put points on Abomination’s nods, the damage just went insane!

Just some questions (I’m playing on HC btw):

  1. How is the survivability late game? Is it possible to facetank nemesis and such? Any boss or part of the game that I should watch out for?
2)Is blade barrier not necessary at all?
3)I was thinking about taking 3 points on Behemoth instead of the Torch, idk I guess I’m kind skeptical about the survivability =S
4)Does the cooldown reduction from “Path of the Three” affects the devotions skills as well? Otherwise the RoS will be slightly off, maybe Shadow Strike will be closer on cd, idk…

Thx a lot!

  1. It’s hard to give you a definite answer on that because there are many “if”, like which nemesis and in what kind of gear. Dmt’s end-game setup could probably clear any nemesis in campaign, but I personally wouldn’t do it w/o disengaging/dodging their debuff skills, because why take the risk. I play on HC as well.

  2. Like someone else said, it just gives you 3 more seconds to throw your mouse in rage.

On paper it’s a useful panic button, but in practice it’s just better to avoid situations when you’d need it. Also when it comes to Crucible high end builders kinda compete on which build is the fastest, so a skill that basically makes you idle for 3 seconds is a huge no.

I myself don’t like it and don’t use it.

  1. Keep in mind that high end builders optimize their devotions considering such things like items they are going to use, their playstyle, their experience and their goals. If you don’t feel safe w/o Behe then by all means get it. I myself chose Chariot though. Bind it to Resilience so that it only worked when it should. It would increase activation chance as well.

  2. As far as I know yes.

Sure this Dervish smashes any nems in campaign easily
