i asked kathanious to take 2nd spot in every one of my new threads. if he ever does take over. deleting the content of the first post is close enoguh to bupming the 2nd post to the top
after some time i want to play Grim Dawn again.
So I installed Grim Dawn + Crucible and Dial53.
New character no problem, but when I continue with another one, the quest progress is deleted. Is there a way to fix it?
Is there any chance to know how to edit/change the mod by myself? I just think some stuff is really good and nearly mandatory, while others are kinda redundant or not on par with other things (imho). I cannot simply open it with the standard tools.
Also, i prefer to learn modding little by little before starting a new project and looking at something already created would be interesting.
You can Fork the source files HERE on github. Then you can download all of the source material. If you are just starting with modding, I would suggest getting a standalone mastery; this worked really well for me. I like the Coronus class and it’s source material is available. With a small project, it’s easier to manage data while you get a feel for things.
I would also suggest watching Ceno’s video HERE. And check out the Modding - Tutorials and Help section.
You will need to install DIAL 048 or earlier. In one of the folders (maybe resources) is a file, Maps.arc. You will need to back this file up. Install the newer version of DIAL and copy Maps.arc over.
Thanks a lot. I would have started with some of the less complicated masteries to be honest. For example Dream or Storm which are functional but imho lack some sort of identity and complexity.
Idea si to take Storm as a base and make it a Cryolithe (cold damage based) and repeat for Sotmrcaller (lighting damage).
Imho the best part of the game is that masteries are all pretty generic in their purpose, but this makes a wonderful ground for mixing up stuff and really creating your build as you can use Arcanist with a melee aswell Demo with a fire based caster and so on.
As far what is missing that I’d like to see in, I think Mage from DoH to combo with Elementalist could be cool. For the second mastery, maybe one of the Zenith masteries. Demon Hunter is neat, but I kind of like having more DoH and Zenith masteries with misc ones as filler, but that’s just me.
You installed a DAIL version 48 or earlier? You may need to load your character (into main campaign) then exit. I’m digging through the old DAIL thread (277 pages) to find the long answer. Maps.arc is the file name and I think it was in the resources folder.
