Darkblaze Garb is the worst set in the game's history

Also, Iskandra’s set is amazing. 3-4 piecing it leads to a great core of a defense and those slots include the chest and shoulders, which are pretty open across most Arcanist-related builds.

I agree with this as a set, I only want the head and maybe amulet, although I’d prefer a Mythical Tainted Ruby of Gar’dal. But I want the head to go with my Mythical Blood Sigil of Ch’Thon for 100% Chaos Fire Strike.

But I agree, I tried to justify the full set, but completely flipped my build on its head when I found a Mythical Obsidian Juggernaut and figured I only lose 10% Chaos RR to CoF but gain +2 to all skills in Occultist and a sick Alt Chaos Forcewave style attack.

Worth noting it looks like they’ve updated this set pretty heavily, it’s now a pure Pyromancer set that buffs Firestrike/Brimstone and Blood of Dreeg with +1 to all Demo and +1 to all Occultist using full set. WAY better than original bonuses.

This should be a change regardless of what they do with Darkblaze (which I agree with Ceno about). It requiring a melee weapon is bonkers to me given the master and other bonuses it has.

I could be alone on this but the relic to me is good without the granted skill. There’s nothing preventing you from using the relic in this set unless you really, really want to use the granted skill.

If you play ranged, you already have a relic. It’s called Ulzuin’s Pyroclasm. Nobody says you have to play ranged with Demolitionist. I have a melee Fire Strike Commando and it’s a lot of fun.

He also uses Ulzuin’s Pyroclasm because it’s just plain better, but that’s another issue.

So I’ve been playing around more using some of this set with KD for blazing charge and I don’t think I’d change it. Using Darkblaze ammo belt, korvaaks and obsidian juggernaut gives me +2 to both my classes. What I do wish they would change is the damage conversion on the amulet. I feel like Vitality to Chaos is slightly redundant and a physical/fire to chaos would be so much better. It’s sort of because of this I can’t switch from Gar’dal to the Darkblaze set amulet. But still, anyone who doesn’t think Firestrike builds can make good melee builds obviously hasn’t played with a Chaos Obsidian Juggernaut Pyromancer. Most fun I’ve had in this game in however many years since I bought it.

Edit: wait… The belt gives occultist not demolitionist… So +3 occultist and +1 demo… I wish they’d just rework the amulet damage conversion and resistances… Guess I can try both and see how I go.

The belt actually kicks ass now. Flat health, flat OA, energy regen, crit damage, chaos and elemental resist, +1 to Occultist, +2 to BoD and +2 to Fire Strike.

Only thing missing is chaos damage % modifier (why isn’t there, it’s a chaos set) and it’s an awesome belt for melee chaos.

I think because the aim of the set is to be still part fire, which is why the head only converts 50% of the fire damage on firestrike. Maybe some chaos with the fire/burn would have been nice.

doesn’t the set add -25% chaos resist to CoF?
