I don’t intend to stop anytime soon, as long as I am enjoying the game I will keep modding.

And for as long as at least one person wants to play the mod I’ll upload the new version for it.

Well, Im working alone. However, most maps have been made by members of this community (their Forum name is in [] after the map name). I made a few maps when I started this project and alexei has brought them to live with his rework (Canyon, Forest: Hills and Dungeon) if he hadn’t, they would still look as empty as the “Mine Map” still does :smiley:
Making new maps takes time and I’m glad others made new maps for the mod, so I could spend my time on something else.

Playing the mod and giving feedback is plenty.

Idea about how to maybe make Inscriptions less frustrating. What about adding lore notes that drop that give hints? Like it would say the name and then a certain rune needed, or the number of sockets, item type, etc. That way you could narrow it down easier as you play, and if you get enough you would just plain know the recipe just by looking at your log.

Where to get Aether Crystal for devotion reset?

I think you must make rune system more clear and obvious. I spent 500 scrap to craft the Stone, RMB on it and what? It disappeared! You think I must repeat this sequence with random runes to lost Scrap again? At least you can add some instructions to Stone description, how to use it, or post it on the forum, but atm this system looks shady as hell. At least some example.
BTW all runewords in D2 was acessable from internet!

I may have asked this before but what are your thoughts on open/closed source states of the mod? I have an assumption since it’s on github, but figure I’ll ask.

There’s been a mod idea I’ve wanted to implement for a while now and realized that the DGA maps would be the perfect guinea pig before I turn my attention to the vanilla world. If my idea pans out properly you’re welcome to use it as well. Let me know here/in PMs/wherever.

yep, it’s open source, use it as you like.

However, if you plan on making the maps public in a different mod outside the scope of DGA you may have to ask the individual map makers if it’s ok with them.

As suggested by AlienFromBeyond, I made Lore Items. Still needs some work, but the code for its creation is done and it’s showing up in game as intended.
Also made a new NPC giving out the first set of [lore] pages.

two screenshots in the spoiler below, let me know if they don’t show up, I used my server since its easier than the attachment system here and sometimes attachments don’t work (for me at least).

hehe, glad you like it, I kept thinking about how this would make the book a mess with all campaign lore (if they are carried over with a character), so I went ahead and made a few changes, let me know which one you prefer. It also tells you the order right away. A nice side-effect is, I can clean up some name texts.

I kept the idea of different items to collect, seems interesting hunting them down.

Hmm, I think for the reason you mentioned of other notes a character might have that the second works out better in the end, and helping people with the order is just one more thing to aid them anyways.

Found a few visual bugs with the leveling gear. The gloves when equipped are completely offset and disconnect your hands away from the character model and have them floating out a bit from your body, I don’t think the intention was for us to turn into Rayman.

Leveling daggers and swords have the wrong models, specifically they have each others’ model. Swords look like daggers, daggers look like swords.

Seems like it’s the Chest Armor’s sleeves, have to look for another mesh for it or just leave it until I make my own meshes for leveling gear. (whenever that is)

fixed it, also changed the dagger class/template from swords to daggers. They’ll show up under Implements, I hope its not going to cause confusion :smiley: it’s still a melee weapon with melee properties.

and another update on rune lore, seems to be the best I can do when it comes to usability and keeping it clean. I guess I’ll find out when there are dozens of entries…

WareBare, can you increase rate for reputation gain for Planar Invaders, this is too long to reach Nemesis! Or can you make it instsant Nemesis, because mod is Beta and I want to kill nemesises without waiting weeks to farm rep.

I don’t think Factions in DGA work as you think they do :slight_smile:
Since DGA is different to how Vanilla is working and you get a random nemesis of all factions (+ new ones in the future) it makes little sense to me to use the vanilla system for it. There is the opportunity to make it bigger than that.
What Planar Invaders currently do:

  • Regular DGA (Mission/Endless): 0% | 10% | 33% | 100%
  • Challenge DGA: 0% | 50% | 100% | 150%

btw, nemeses don’t have anything special yet either, they are basically just stronger enemies with no extra reward and their MIs will be available later.

No.

I can increase the spawn rates for nemeses until the system is fully implemented, however the reason you are able to get reputation already is so you get some reward for playing it before factions are finished.

Thank you for your feedback, it tells me I need to find a place to write down this information in game, and since (rank) tags don’t work I may have to add it to the Faction Lore (tag).
