[Deprecated] [Mod] Mapping/Rifting is coming to GD (First WanezMod)

Tier-Components/Keys have been removed, instead you can find scrolls that open a portal without the need to craft anything.

Ahh ok, I ran a Special DGA and got to around 10% progress, couldnt go further on map but could see other mobs. Found a blue scroll said something about travelling to another area but just looked like the white TP scroll, used it and consumed within the map, did nothing so I exited that one

Endless and Challenges (old Special DGA) work a little different now, you find the portal in a map leading to a BossRoom where you kill a boss and the portal to a new map opens.

Prevents alot of bugs in multiplayer and where portals would bug and never spawn again until a new session was created.

PS: if you were on ultimate using that scroll you got a DGA-Orb which you wouldnt notice if you had old items in your inventory, since most of them were converted to DGA-Orbs when you fist enter DGA.

Might we get a list of possible stats for leveling items at some point? It doesn’t need the chance for each, but it would be nice to know if a certain stat combination is possible before dumping a ton of scrap trying to get it.

Im glad I did that, found a few errors :smiley: and Ill probably upload Beta #06 soon. I’ll eventually make a generated list, since all these values are inside a .JSON it won’t take that long to fetch all that data and put it in a readable format, which will include values and chances.

What are the chances for the various shrines? Thus far I’ve only encountered Speed, which is certainly possible but seems increasingly unlikely.

Shrine of Speed at the very least lasts far too long, I can do multiple rifts before it runs out. Maybe half duration? The buff also doesn’t refresh if you get another shrine of the same type.

Loving the reroll hunt with the leveling items thus far, eager to see what you do with relics in the future. I think right now I would only consider epics if they have something like conversion or a skill that I want, which I’m pretty okay with (I think most epics are kind of trash). Not sure how the leveling items will hold up against endgame legendaries and sets, but if I get that far I’ll let you know.

1:1, but this pseudo random number stuff in lua may be the issue here, Ill look into it, I also feel like getting the same few maps when I start a new session.
A fix could be as simple as adding a few random calls after a new randomseed is set. If it doesn’t work Ill just use the tracking system of previously rolled values I’m using for map rolls.

k, thanks, Ill make them somewhere between 2 and 5 minutes with Beta #07, they should be a short burst you can get excited about finding and last long enough to not get disappointed the moment you click on it thinking it’s going to end too soon. :smiley:

Hehe, I really liked the item hunt when d3 started and legendaries were trash and you basically had to get great rares, also liked PoE when it was more difficult to get good rares (now with masters its too easy). So I wanted to make something more like that without replacing Grim Dawn’s items, the perfect outcome would be to want a mix of these items and vanilla items/legs/sets.
The Endgame-Sets are likely using the same system and just add set bonuses/upgrades, it’s also possible I just add lvl 85 items without set bonuses and do different sets in the future. As of right now 70 is the highest item, but the button for lvl 85 is already there (in my tool) just have to press it :), but I havnt done it yet, because the items seem pretty strong and the 70 ones may be good enough. The number scaling is actually ready for up to 100 (with the current lvl req of 85 but stats for 100).

If I do add 85 Items they will likely have a ridiculous scrap cost and even if the sets I had planned are not going to happen after all, artifacts will most certainly be there.

Really enjoying the mod so far. Beta 6 is a really good improvement over the Beta 3 that was already really liking. Some odd things do occasionally happen like clicking on a level affix item results in it not always getting added. I’m not sure if i need to open the portal first and then add an affix afterwards (like stand in the circle to make work)? I used to like to add more packs and champions but still not sure why this is broken right now.

Also, im having a hard time figuring out Inscriptions and how the stones should work here. It looks like a slick mechanic but i haven’t been able to get it going after reviewing your instructions on the release page you made.

You can use affix scrolls whenever and wherever you want, the moment you open a new portal (with a scroll inside the circle) they are consumed (quests will disappear, but affix IDs are saved for the map) and affect each map until you have to open the next portal. So even in Endless, affixes will persist until you have to open a new portal via scroll.
Found a bug when you already have a particular Affix, it is supposed to return the scroll, so if you have added champions you cannot add even more champions, it needs to be consumed first (and remove the quest), but I just ran a couple dozen maps with affixes and worked fine every time.

If you are still having issues, let me know these things:

I made them after a question if it was possible to make D2 Rune Words in Grim Dawn and this is the best thing I could come up with. Since Grim Dawn doesnt have sockets I had to find a way to imitate them as best as I could. So Stones represent an Item with a certain number of Sockets, once you use a Stone any of the following rune (scroll) used will be saved and upon reaching the “Socket” Limit you either get the Inscription or nothing.
To get an Inscription out of it you need to use the correct runes (scroll) in the correct order. Using Rune Scrolls without using a Stone before will convert them into a Rune (Component). To let the game know you want to make an Inscription and not a Rune, you are using stones to start a “Sequence”.

any chance of a bulk exp purchase, or a static level like the previous versions? turning in orb after orb for 20k is great, just a tad tedious after like… lvl 30

bulk purchase, sure - I need to take a closer look at the amount aswell, after the DGA Orb changes (using character level to determine the amount you’ll get) its quite abit of exp you can get out of it, while devotion seemed fine for the most part when I made a couple new characters.
They are just replacing Quest Rewards, so I’d normally give a chance on a Devotion Point and a certain amount of exp depending on the level, but due to technichal limitations, that wasnt possible the way I wanted it :smiley: what Im trying to say is, free level is very unlikely to come back.

You can probably expect a change with Beta #07, right now the fact that it is tedious is the difficulty in getting the free exp, so making it easier with bulk purchases will most certainly change the amount:Orb ratio.

Ok, the mechanic for turning on affixes only works up to hard. When i try in Elite or Uber mode then the Affix does not increase the packs or take effect. Also, I should mention i am playing your mod in Dail on Ultimate difficulty. I am playing with Vanilla mode off and Nemesis are enabled but i never seem to get any Nemesis spawns. I have tried it on endless, challenge and mission modes to see if it made any difference and it didn’t. One other very small bug i have run into is in the endless mode(my favorite). I finish the boss room and then click on the guy to increase the monster levels by +2; then sometime the guy will disappear and so will the red portal with him. This doesn’t always happen. I would say it occurs every 4 to 5 times a round. It feels almost like if i mistime my click it will casue the portal to go away.

k, so the endless issue is [likely] fixed, there was one portal that wasnt connected to anything. Fixing that issue gave me an idea to fix another one, where sometimes no monsters would spawn when you get to “Torture Chamber”, was a similar issue… .

I found an issue when the chance for Nemesis was being rolled, Im guessing you are either Hated or Despised (Planar Invaders). Since I wasnt able to reproduce the affix issue and was testing it with almost no reputation or max rep, I assume the Nemsis spawn fix will also fix that affix issue you are having.

Ill upload it tomorrow with a few other things.
