I don’t know if this on purpose. When you excravate, you get attacked by raiders after a while. But if you build a wall around before starting, with a door of course, no attacks, you will not be disturbed.
Is that how it is supposed to be?

If so, then it’s a new mechanic.
I always build walls and towers around a ruin because raiders scare away the workers and it takes forever to clear the ruins otherwise. Raiders still show up though…
I don’t.
When I’m ready, I send like 6/8 sodiers (acording to the game progress & needs) in january.
Then max workers in priority, to excavate.
The sodiers will be on site and clean it before the workers get there, all cleared before fall.
