Fangs of Asterkarn builds theorycraft calcs list for endgame and leveling

Me and some other active guys from GD discord, including @romanN1, @YBGnome, @Arctic_For_Polar and @artem_shepelev were too excited about FoA stuff, so we spent last week wasting our workhours theorycrafting and minmaxing FoA builds with updated gtools, and I decided to post them at least for the sake of memory about this fun week full of monkaS, pepeLaugh and kappaScorv.

Special thanks to @RSnoomak who helped me figuring some forum post-creating stuff and @Dammitt for quick bug fixes and gtools update, some functions are now much more convenient to use

DISCLAMER
None of us had access to closed playtest, therefore listed builds are purely product of theorycraft and can be either top20 material or not work at all (although we really hope most of them will work just fine XD)

Also no crimson moon builds so Zantai can’t laugh at us (surely)

Thanks for sharing!
What i really liked:

  1. Witchblade with acid Cadence + Bloody Pox, whole concept looks like a wood elemental
  2. Reaver Shadow Strike
  3. Cinderborn fire retal
  4. Evoker with Winds of Asterkarn + TSS
  5. Zealon with fire Werewolf and Guardians

What i don’t like is ascended bonuses being added as so far i think majority of people don’t understand how easy or difficult it is going to be to obtain them so as of now, in my opinion, this is kind of misleading in terms of stats/bonuses/skill modifiers.

Good to see you liked some of the stuff!

We actually had this talk, I agree what relying on specific ascended mods rn is a bad idea right now, but probably getting some random ascended affixes just for stat bulk will be not that hard

i would also change augments on acid Witchblade to Irra’s Venomtoungue to get OA + elemental res instead of DA (Which you have plenty already)

There’s couple of acid witchblades, actually, can you be more specific please? xd

edit. Nvm, i realised what they are copies, lemme fix that

these two, and they are both same build

Yeah, fixed that

For the augs choice - i guess @romanN1 knows better, that’s his calc

Absolutely love the Ele Cadence Battlemage spec. First build for FoA

I loved all of them!

But, it seems that most builds have best affixes on rares and best ascendent affix in all gear slots.

And you guys are discussing which augments will be best? :stuck_out_tongue:

It would be nice to have a couple of builds for pets too)

Cold AAR Evoker Evoker, Level 100 (GD 1.3.0.0) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator

It is possible to get one more beam with an MI helm but I prefer Ravager´s helm.

For just one beam use as a medal MythIcal Mark of Calamitous Desires.

but Beam Dawn?!?!

I don´t like the idea much of many beams.

The screenshot did make me think of the Aether PB conduit, which is (imho) very frustrating in use.

So it seems that Raven and Werebear aren’t that good, and the optimal strategy is to use these skills only for their passive bonuses.

I tried theorycrafting a cold or lightning Raven build, and it feels like either the itemization isn’t great, the build is a bit wacky, or Raven just underperforms compared to something like Shadow Strike or Trozan’s Sky Shard.

I have chaos Wereraven Mystic in two versions

raven + sigil Mystic, Level 100 (GD 1.3.0.0) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator
full raven only Mystic, Level 100 (GD 1.3.0.0) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator

And I am also affraid that Raven alone will not cut it in the endgame. Compared to AAR the damage just does not seem to be there.

Werewolf seems good as main dmg source, since its basically Blade Arc, but with ability to use dw. For raven its true, itemisation is not that good and this form seem to be better just for buffs.

Unless I’ve missed it, this build doesn’t seem to use anything that enables dual-wielding. There’s probably a few points here and there that could be put in Frenzied Cry instead?

~edit: quoting ate the hyperlink, it’s romanN1’s build

romann probably just forgot bout that XD
yeah, one point into frenzied cry will fix the problem
