Farmers and fishers fail to work on game load

I closed out of the game right when spring hit, and have more than once, and when I reload, no matter what I do, the farmers do not farm. It has killed more than one early game village. I’ve tried clearing and replanning the queue, reloading, dumping the farmers and restaffing, but the system seems to think the season is over before it’s begun.
I always see the same problem with fishing huts showing no stock until I select one, click the work area button and then close out, then they all go back to work. Just hoping this can be addressed soon. Fishing huts eventually correct themselves but losing an entire season of farming on all fields is game breaking.
Thanks!

Fish huts are like this a couple seconds after game is loaded but will correct as soon as work queue kicks off.

In regards to farming, are they accessible? Had an issue where I had a farm setup and plants were growing, no rot nor anything but turned out, the farm was fenced off the entire time, I had a corner gate that I though was passable.

Yes, about a minute later fishers will go to work.

Yes. Wide open or perfectly fenced. I’ll load the game and the season’s queue will be checked as if the season were finished but it had only just started.

I apologize if some of my comments seem obvious.

  1. Both fishing huts and farms are seasonal. No one will work there in winter.
  2. Fishing huts can be depleted of fish, causing short term inability to fish. There is a knowledge tree node that enhances fish replenishment.
  3. Farms and livestock need to have at least one working gate or workers will not access the field.
  4. Do you have fields that are overgrown with weeds or very low in fertility?
While I have not seen farmers refuse to work due to overgrown weeds or fertility, it could be related to your issue. Always set some seasonal times for weeding/fallow fields. Personally I use one season with 1 weeding and 2 lying fallow boxes. Make sure you have at least one compost dump to increase fertility. Fields that do not have weeding/fallow time/compost will eventually provide little to no yield.
