Feedback on legendary Boots and Leg Armor

  1. Again, just compare to runeguard greaves. Voidwalker definitely could use something or a couple somethings.

  2. I know Timewarped Walkers are okayish. I have a rule of thumb that in every big thread I make about feedback, I should mix in one suggestion that’s a bit of a reach

I’d be fine with 2-3% of 30-75% CDR as well. I don’t think it’d break the game, and unlike rings you can’t double up on it.

Fateweaver’s Leggings

Compare it to Chausses or Tranquil Mind. Tranquil Mind has 98 OA to fateweaver’s 29, 100 spirit which affects all magic dmg types and at least gives a little health now, and that whopping 50% slow resist.

Fateweaver’s attempts to look good by having that delicious proc, but it has 40s of cooldown to its 12 second duration. So that’s a lot of down time. At a minimum it’d be better to activate on like 60% health so it doesn’t go off on meaningless fights.

I am currently building a caster,I wanted to use them, but the end choice was Tranquil pants and Grey Magi boots. The proc should have much more uptime to be viable.Furthermore if you play channeling spell also Arcane harmony are better.

Wouldn’t you agree about having it proc at 60% health or something too? Uptime improvement would help as well but having trash move proc it when you don’t need it, delaying you getting it when you do need it, is annoying.

Even in a boss fight, proccing on lower health is nice because not all boss attacks are equally threatening. But if it procs after you get chunked you improve your odds of surviving the jam.

Yes of course,I was merely presented another option.

Boots,Wyrmscale are crafted,OA and DA are nice, but resistances are lacking. No physical,CC and miserable 22% elemental.

Primordial rage, very unfocused skill bonuses. It’s hard to use more than one on same build.

Some items we touched on got some changes in the last patch.

We must work together as a community to test the changes below that touched items we mentioned in this thread, so that we can CROSS SOME OFF OUR LIST IF THEY ARE NOW SUFFICIENT.

Please remember the goal isn’t to make everything best in slot in some build. While we want to strive for item slot diversity, the purpose of this thread is to accept when an item is just baseline good. If we can make it competitive WITHOUT displacing something else, that’s fantastic, but the goal is just to make sure the items are good enough to wear without feeling stupid for doing so. At least that’s my take.

* Mythical Voidwalker Footpads: increased Defensive Ability to 60
* Mythical Amatok’s Step: added 4% Physical Resist
* Mythical Timewarped Walkers: increased % Slow Resist to 40%, % Physical Resist to 4% and added +2 to Hellfire Mine
* Mythical Boots of Primordial Rage: added 280 Health
* Feralmane Legplates: increased Defensive Ability to 80
* Mythical Dread Knight’s Legplates: increased Health to 800, added 4% Physical Resist

I am removing Voidwalkers and Timewarped Walkers from the list because the former got enough of what I was hoping for and could already see minor use, and the latter got more than I dared hope for.

Strong contenders for being sufficiently buffed to be removed from the list (in my opinion):
Feralmane Legplates
Mythical Dread Knight’s Legplates need testing, if they aren’t seeing use by any shield builds then they probably just need a small skill bonus tweaking, given the new void soul set and new totally normal chaos shield.
I really WANT to remove Amatok’s step but I have a suspicion the build archetypes its +skills supports are too weak and could really use those +2’s becoming +3’s. We will need people testing the booties.

Let me know if you think any of the buffs above sufficiently warrants them being taken off the list. And please do chime in on items still on the list that you find are still poor. Or anything I missed.

Added Really Great Pants.

Are Dread Knight’s Legplates and Feralmane Legplates any good now? If Dread Knight’s Legplates are still outclassed or just not accomplishing anything for the build it’s aimed at (warlord, oppressor, death knight), please let me know by what and why.

If Zantai adds a nice skill mod to shattering smash to earthsplitter I could see a new build emerge.

Feralmane Legplates were already decent but they just have some tough competition. Are they outclassed still? Is it an issue of a stat or the +skills on Feralmane being lacking?

On Runebrand Legwraps, personally I only really use it if I need the Stun res badly.

While it has its place, I find myself going for Wildshorn or Rifthound whenever I can since +5% pet OA and Pet Vitality and Poison res aren’t that appealing.

What would you put on them to make them more appealing, or what pet stats would you change? Or what +skills would you change?

The goal here would be to change something that does NOT displace those other legs out of existence.

Off the top of my head one of these might work:

o) Phys res for the player/pets.
o) Add more pet %OA, maybe Pet cast speed as extra.
o) Give a frenzy type on-hit/on-attack skill for pets with %chance. Barbaross Pants work for pets too, so may or may not be a conflict there.
o) 100% Mind Control resistance for pets since the other choices for that particular stat tend to conflict with stuff. But then Mythical Nosferattis might never see the light of the day. So there is that.
o) Increase Stun and Freeze resistance amount.

Personally, other than the Stun Resistance and Elemental Resistance, I don’t really use it for anything else. While +3 to Storm Spirit is nice, Mog’s Pact itself is lackluster due to the state of Physical Pet builds even after the buff and I cannot say about Pet Warlocks since IEE is getting buffed. But currently, it is down there with Pet Defiler.

Added Runebrand Legwraps to the OP @Maya. Quoting you directly there works well enough. Leave things to the experts and whatnot.

Edited Primordial Boots section to make more compelling case to Zantai. Added () to display the state each item is in.

  • Mythical Amatok’s Step: added 26% Aether Resist
  • Mythical Boots of Primordial Rage: added 30% Stun Resist

changed in 1.1.4 I really am tempted to take these off the list but I’m not sure the +skills on them are cohesive. If anyone thinks the +skills could be better please let me know, or let me know that they’re good enough now.

Also still needing community feedback on the feralmane and dread knight’s legplates changes from last patch.

Golemborn need some up, now I used Dreadnought Footplase in most builds with bad pierce res.

I used Feralmane in ranged Primal Strike Vindicator. Needed both skill bonus, cause of points hungry build and also DA.

I used Amatok on one of my theorycrafts, aether is nice addition. Still they are hardly BiS.

I’m not convinced about feralmane either. But the triple resists are nice. Vindicator? Would you have liked it to have +2 to an Inquisitor skill then? I would agree that you can’t call the pants lacking anymore, I just think they could be less niche. Could be wrong.

Also what the fuck does primordial boots need to see some use?

If someone could help me figure out what primordial boots need, and what +skills on dread knight’s legplates would make it appealing for its theme, that’d be super.

Ok so toying around with the dread knight’s legplates, they’re not bad but could definitely be better without being OP. After consulting a few people and playing around I think it could really benefit from 30-40DA and also reaping strike for soul harvest. It’s already difficult to get +skills to soul harvest so that’d be fantastic here, and it’d work well with void soul with just that bit of DA.

Really Great pants are basically an honorable mention overshadowed by Barbaros atm. They’re not bad but Barbaros is too good to pass up for these. And for Crucible builders they prefer tranquil mind pants.

As for boots of Primordial rage, just increase the base armor to 1400. That low armor is basically the reason why it gets neglected by the builds that would want its stats and +skills. And if you want to be certain they see use, increase the armor and add just 15% pierce resist.

Amatok’s boots are fine now so I’m removing them from the list. But if you gave them another 10 DA it wouldn’t make anything OP and would help those builds dying for every DA point they can get.

They need they’re base armor raised. Their are legPLATES not chinos. Besides S&B soldiers rarely have problem with pierce res but almost always have problem with oa and will take Barbaros every time. I’d also take some health (death knights got a lot) and put that oa there to compete.

I’m relatively confident with my suggestions for dead knight’s legplates this time around, but of course more armor is welcome. That reminds me, feralmane pants are “fine” now. Confirmed. So removing from list.

Fateweaver’s could just use their OA increased and/or added DA. It’s one of the few places you can reasonably get +skills to Word of Agony, but if it also had +skills to word of pain or death sentence it’d suddenly become pretty solid as well for word of pain builds.

Mythical Timewarped Walkers
I suggest removing +2 Aura of Conviction from this shoe and adding about 50 OA or DA instead.

I considered using these shoes with Aetaher Spellbinder, but finally I chose Bone shatter boots.
In my opinion, I think this boot should be reviewed as a whole.
The good thing about this shoe is% dmg, OA and two resistances. Everything else is subtle. I want other resistance (especially physical resistance) than health. You can also change the armor type to heavy.
There are several other better options for elemental builds, as well as for ether builds.
Even with regard to skill bonuses, the advantage of choosing this shoe for those builds is low.
Why does the Proc skill include lightning rather than fire? Alblecht ring has a similarly named Proc, but the damage type is Fire and Aether.
Please do the same as ring, or change the skill name.
