Fluffy Woofy - Ice King Pet Conjurer

Foreword:

THIS BUILD USES DOUBLE RARE GREENS!!!

I am running out of names for my builds…

Now,
Ever wanted something that you could play half asleep?
Ever wanted to kill the Gods themselves?

If your answer is yes, then you are in the right place. This is one of the laziest, easiest builds in existence and you can do absolutely everything ingame with it. It is also 100% Hardcore Viable.

Note: Requires Ashes_of_Malmouth, Forgotten_Gods & Fangs_of_Asterkarn.

Note II: Yes, this uses Ice King’s Adornments set, but is not a Mystic and is instead a Conjurer because I found Berserker skills to be a bit weird to play with and Conjurer was easier to pilot.

How to Level

Attributes:

Everything into Physique, except for when you need to invest into Cunning or Spirit to meet the required stats for equipping items.

Leveling:

There are primarily 2 ways to go. Either focus more on Occultist or Shaman. I would suggest going with an Occultist focused setup since it is easier to level with. You can ofcourse, focus on both equally, but then would be spreading your points too thin and that is not recommended.

Devotions:

  • Purple Crossroads > Shepherd’s Crook > Remove Purple
  • Green Crossroads > Raven > Rhowan’s Crown > Remove Green
  • Blue Crossroads > Eel > 4 points in Amatok (for Blizzard)
  • Yellow Crossroads > Tortoise > Remove Yellow
  • Sailor’s Guide > Crane > Panther > Solemn Watcher
  • Ishtak + 4 points in Tree of Life (for Healing Rain)

Skills:

  • Lvl 10 – 16/16 Familiar, 1/16 Hellhound.
  • Lvl 20 – 16/16 Briarthorn, 1/10 Curse of Frailty, 4/16 Hellhound.
  • Lvl 30 – 10/10 Curse of Frailty, 10/10 Vulnerability, 16/16 Hellhound.
  • Lvl 40 – 16/16 Blood of Dreeg, 8/12 Storm Spirit, 1/16 Devouring Swarm.
  • Lvl 50 – 12/12 Lightning Strike.
  • Lvl 60 – 12/12 Aspect of the Guardian, 12/12 Storm Spirit, 3/12 Ember Claw, 1/12 Bonds of Bysmiel.
  • Lvl 70 – 3/12 Manipulation, 1/12 Possession.
  • Lvl 80 – 12/12 Manipulation, 12/12 Possession.
  • Lvl 90 – 12/12 Infernal Breath, 12/12 Ember Claw.
  • Lvl 94 – Respec, according to the build you are going for.

It is all from the purple items . Can kind of get around it by using a different shoulder or boots but then we lose out on the Fiendflesh bonus.

Example - Conjurer, Level 100 (GD 1.3.0.8) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator

What about different relic or belt as both of those give +1 to all skills? Or would that lose too much on the other skills?

That would be the equivalent of burning down the house to kill a spider .

(You’d lose way more than swapping boots)

So… After hours of farming, my Firewood Pet Conjurer is now complete, and now you post this build? It’s time to switch and try then.

How does he perform compared to FW Conj? Less damage but more tanky?

(Thank you again for your builds)

Er… on paper, this one is more tanky and way less damage.

But in practice… Firewood can go upto SR 60 because the pets kill fast enough and can hold aggro better due to having Briarthorns, while this one kind of loses any advantage it has once you go over SR 50.

In other words - scenario where you are getting hit no matter what = this build has advantage. But scenario where your pets can hold the aggro while you keep away from the action = Firewood is better.

Also, Firewood has more wiggle room in case future nerfs hit. You can also make it tankier, or even more DPS focused while here, we are kind of stretched to the max already.

So, I would say keep the Firewood one unless you are specifically interested in the Aesthetics or something along those lines because the Hellhounds do turn into Wolves with the Ice King set .

You got me, I’ll try it for aesthetics reasons :relieved:

I know it’s without Blood of Dreeg, but damn. Imagine getting nullified and stepping into a puddle
(I lost Fluffy Squishy like that last Autumn, and that one had 37% posion res without BoD. I’m having a PTSD now).

Although it receives less set-bonus support than Mystic , it feels much smoother and more comfortable to play.
