I don’t want to memorize all the game skills just because you see as a “bad thing”. This is a really must have improvement even to new players!
FoA when?
I’m already making new builds and I want even MOAR things.
I have a lot of patience, that’s why I want to know the release date of FoA!
I’m waiting like everybody here and I’m not a kid, see ya.
Devs DID initially say late 2024 or 2025 when FOA was first announced in 2023. And devs used this exact forum (Grim Misadventures) to notify that the expansion was indeed NOT coming in 2024 but was rather coming in 2025. So it is not unreasonable to expect some sort of date announcement or date range exactly here.
People who are in a hurry about the release date of the next DLC are forgetting two super important factors, this will be the last experience of grim dawn, and grim dawn is not like the other arpgs that have seasons that require a precise release date, calm down and let the devs work quietly.
It was, but devs changed their minds. Partly because the RTS they have under development which will be set on Cairn in a pre-GD era will feature the Kurn tribes and they thought it would be a good idea to provide some background/history in GD about them. Plus after a break they were getting the ARPG itch again.
The devs announced it and created hype. It’s no surprise people are excited and want to know when they get to play with the new stuff.
You can’t really blame people for not staying calm and asking about a release date.
That said, I have learned a long time ago that everything always gets delayed and I find it best to indeed stay calm and just let it happen. But if everyone was like that pretty much nothing would be sold on release day
This last DLC will come with a large amount of content as we have seen, there will be changes in various areas of the game that will affect from start to finish, from the mechanics to the small component, so the unpredictable date, you have to test all the things, and let’s face it that it is not an easy job, it will be the closing DLC of the game and they will surely want and will do it well, taking into account all this after this last DLC when everyone least expects GD 2 will be announced, and while it does not arrive we will have a large amount of things to do with the next DLC.
The devs announced a general time frame and then that got pushed up.
This is why they don’t like setting a concrete date until they are fairly sure they will meet the deadline or at least close to it because people will constantly badger about the release date. Which they do anyway.
Once they have settled on a date, it will be made it its own post.
I don’t think Grim Dawn 2 will ever happen, they are working on other projects which takes allot of time. Also, i don’t think they should make Grim Dawn 2 to be honest, Grim dawn is fine like it is, it’s a good ARPG, I’d rather say let them make a brand new IP ARPG, it will just be beneficial for the developers.
I’m sure GD2 will happen, even if it takes a little time, I believe that after this DLC there will be no more retinuation, not in GD1, even if it is a retinuation of this one, I believe it will be called GD2, with many new features, the crate did not disappoint its fans.
We already know that GD2 may come, but it’s years away yet. There’s Farthest Frontier to get to full release (soon all being well), continued support for that and GD, work on Crate’s new generation of their game engine which will be used first for their RTS game and then maybe GD2. There’s also a horror survival game under development so it’s going to be a long time before we hear much about any GD2.
And as Zantai has said long ago any GD2 would be well into development before we hear anything about it.
I just believe that GD2 will not come if it is announced from Zantai itself, in addition comments like this would be like a disincentive to the creators, not believed that after years beyond the great commonality that we have that there is not a continuation of the game, even because in the crate among all the grim dawm games is the one at the top of the featured list, only if Zantai forces to pass his project to another company, which I highly doubt.
I don’t think they should make Grim Dawn 2, this is my opinion, and you may disagree it’s fine, if someone say something you don’t agree with doesn’t mean they are not a fan of the game.
I’ve been following Grim Dawn since 2009, so I’d say I’m a pretty big fan of the game.
I think Grim Dawn is in a perfect state, and a very good game to play, even if Crate decide to fully stop it’s development, which will come at some point. Game designers get fatigue, believe it or not, they are human too
and maybe making a new ARPG IP will just be beneficial for Crate and their creative designers, to explore and have fun.
