Confirmed in everything I’ve seen in all these years, compared to many other games that are picking up a lot of things in terms of mechanics like merging the classes and abilities that grim dawm has emmented this, and many arpgs like even LE did, grim dawm has a lot to offer this is a fact, you underestimate the mind of Z and the entire Crate team.

All those who are here charging for something that not even they can do, do nothing, just wait, even if paying and charging, in my opinion are not worthy of being called fans, not one, they are rats who think that money can buy everything, do not respect the interval of those who can do more for you, the ungrateful collectors do not deserve to be in this community, sorry Z and all the others REVOLTED.

The release date is relevant, that’s why I’m waiting and not asking everytime for it, but we need to wait even more time after they release a date for the dlc, so more time to wait :man_shrugging:

I know and they’re doing a great work, but for now we can only wait

Actually Titan Quest had the “Merging” classes first and the now CEO of Crate, Arthur Bruno, designed the merging class system, that’s why Grim Dawn have it.

So while Grim Dawn is good, it did not do everything first, and others copy from it

Calm down, dude. There is no need to insult people here anyone is entitled to their opinions but please keep it respectable.

The Expansion will come, and if those ask when will it come, so what then? they are free to ask, it won’t alter or hurt the world.

Since ultimately GD is Medierra’s baby he’d take over with news or they’d hire someone else.

Medierra almost look like Chris Wilson lol

It will come out about the same time as Terraria 1.4.5, Minecraft End Update, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Hytale and GTA VI

You are crazy if you think a Grim Dawn 2 isnt needed, the engine is literaly the only thing holding this game back, try playing poe2,that game runs and feels amazing to play, its everything else thats bad in poe2

Another Aetherial came barking

Go read thoroughly what i said before making assumption

There is nothing wrong about poe2, it’s a stereo type amongst ARPG players, this game “ARPG” is better than this one and this one.

Although these games share the genre, they are pretty much different, and that is ok. I play these games for fun, not being a secret spy agent trying to decipher what is bad about it, there exist no such thing as a perfect game, each have their good and bad points, then again, so what? it’s a game, not a life, it’s a freaking fucken game for god sake.

Grim Dawn is a good game, I’ve said it, it just my opinion if i say they should not make Grim Dawn 2, we’ve seen Grim Dawn, and it’s lore, sure, they can extend the lore, then again it will be Grim Dawn all over, these developers are creative developers, focus too much, too long on the same game, drains you, it will be beneficial to them, to explore and maybe make another ARPG with a different setting and lore, they can, they are developers after all, if not, they are not.

Also, why do you think they made FF, and busy with an RTS and survival game? why do that, why not just do your demanding Grim Dawn 2? it’s simple, they are drained for working many years on the game and need a fresh start. Also, they have a company, people must be paid, it’s costly, and one game can’t generate enough income to support, it, Grim Dawn is not a live service game, with MTX bullshit.

Anyway, this is my opinion.

The ARPG format is reaching its limits and is IMO past its golden age anyway.

Grim Dawn is one of the last “proper” ARPGs before it all devolved into seasonal nightmares with endless difficulty scaling.

Old ARPGs didn’t just bump up back-end numbers for the engine (HP/damage). Higher tier enemies were smarter, faster, had different AI. It was Diablo3’s idiotic “Rift” idea that ended up dumbing everything down.

There is no difference betwen greater rift 1 and 1000000 except HP/Damage numbers. If you could turn them off, you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference if you hit the correct damage/hp ratios.

Which makes me question the whole thing.

Yes, GD has Shattered Realm which is a take on the modern ARPG “endgame”, but it’s just one way to play the game. You have crucible, uber bosses, and I hope for Asecendent mode to be the other “endgame” option. And I do enjoy SR from time to time anyway, just not as the main dish.

So, if GD2 ever happens, I hope it’s not the tired, regurgitated “endless difficulty” BS. I hope it’s a new take on a classic ARPG format. One thing I have to commend POE2 for is that GGG tries to actually have VISION (even though it’s met with furious backlash of the community, the review bombing, the steam reviews, etc.). They are flat out refusing to give us YET ANOTHER ZOOM ZOOM LOOT EXPLOSION INFINITE SCALING GARBAGE. Awesome. Almost all memorable games (and pretty much anything) were NOT made to please a community of angry manchildren, but developed out of vision - this is how art is being made.

We have Last Epoch and Diablo4 for the zoom-zoom garbage the genre has devolved into.

And this is EXACTLY why we need Grim Dawn 2. The Genre will otherwise become the next RTS (that is Real Time Strategy) - and will be regurgitated till it dies because the formula has become too boring to repeat. RTS games are like Shmups - they are just not being made anymore.

Seriously, how many “greater rift games with endless HP/Damage scaling and running 25000 km/h while blasting entire screens without any difficulty” do we need? We already have several.

My respect goes to Crate for not giving in, not giving us seasons (thank Lord), actually working on another kind of endgame, developing&maintaining Crucible. it’s like the glory days of ARPG (Titan Quest, early days of PoE, and Grim Dawn ofc) continued till today.

People hate on @Zantai at times for “not being nice” or whatever, but this guy strikes me as a person that is passionate and actually having vision of how the game should look like.

Trust me, there’s nothing worse than community-driven games, they ALL turn to unplayable garbage because the common player just doesn’t understand that going full dopamine blasts from minute 1 to final minute isn’t going to work. Last Epoch and Diablo 4 are community driven games at that point and they are casualfest of garbage. And no offense to casuals here. it’s just that difficulty and restraint isn’t bad. Without restraint, you just get bored in a week. Like, when reaching empowered monolights in LE. Why would I waste 20-40 hours slowly moving the bar further with absolute zero challenge?

Think about it. I am expected to LITERALLY waste DOZENS of my precious free time hours to push a VIDEO GAME NUMBERS high enough to NOT DIE OF BOREDOM due to absolute lack of any sort of challenge. If that isn’t retarded, IDK what is.

Sorry for my slightly OT rant. To be more ontopic: these kinds of “WEN” followed by “When it’s ready” is being repeated on pretty much every forum of every video game that is under development. My only wish for Crate team is to perhaps give a little more updates (like: the game is being pushed to late Q3-Q4, stay tuned!), that’s about it. I know I’ll have another 1000 fantastic hours of fun whenever it drops.

Even if you don’t like SR you are forced to do it to max out your skill and attribute points. Would be nice if there were an alternative way to do that. At least the other additional points available after level 100 come from the campaign itself (consider hidden path part of campaign). Would that the SR points were similarly incorporated somehow into the game campaign itself.
