To make Forager work efficiently it makes sense to relocate target area depending on season when plants get ready at different locations. Farmers can work on multiple fields - would be nice if can set multiple areas too for foragers. Then if closest field is empty, will go automatically to next field. With hardest difficulty every food and herb piece counts. Farmers have well developed system - i think foragers deserve better automation too. Herbs are so critical for soap. I forget to relocate once the forager area and no herbs this year and people die to sickness. It makes sense to keep most of the Forager resources stationary, but herbs are so important that we need a way to plant these if there are none. Maybe just make the herbs appear in every map a lot like trees and bushes? Or maybe if the forager area is empty of other resources, it can find herbs out of regular grass while searching around. Can give the herb planting option to farmers too if want to do some soap or pharmacy business.
Agreed. And I think they should start foraging whatever else they can find once they have exhausted everything in their circles instead of loafing

It is a bit odd that trees can be planted, but other normal gardening things cannot be replicated by the town. i would love to see the herbs, medicinal roots, nuts and other wild growing plants be included in the gardens our villagers can grow, or moved to a different location similar to the blueberry bushes.
I mean that only the “herbs” (used for soap and stuff) to be more present in the wild and why not also grow in the city gardens, houses. In real life very big part of all the plants are edible or useful for medical purpose. It makes sense, that some places don’t have gold, iron, rare fruits and need to trade. But if the land and climate is fertile enough to have trees, there should be also plants, herbs available.
At least would make sense if we can buy a cow, why not possible to buy herb plants and make our own herb garden somewhere. Foresters can plant trees themselves. Lets make Foragers able to plant some herbs around their hut.
Anyway, there are different solutions and it would be a task for the developers to decide how exactly the game would be balanced and make overall sense with any specific small changes.
I think the idea of not having everything plenty on map is good. There should be always (or at least on harder difficulties) something your map is scarce of so you have to utilize the trading system. I’d also like to have some better trading where you can set some automatical order what to sell what to buy (smth like in anno). Maybe a tier 3 trade hall and every automatic order takes a fee so you could decide if you want to do it manually or have the coin to do it automatically.
As for the forager, I could definitely use maybe 3 smaller circles. Also let me put a priority on what I want from foragers to haul first. Maybe just let us order those icons from left (highest priority) to right
