Forager's Gardens need to be able to forage as well

I know this has come up before - but I’m re-raising it. I think it’s important that the gardeners in the foragers garden can also go collect the (often more plentiful) resources around them. Willow, for instance, is plentiful around lakes but just sitting unused once I’ve upgraded.

And no, I don’t think “just don’t upgrade” is the solution, because who wants those yellow arrows hanging around? :D.

As someone else previously mentioned, this could be solved with a second worker slot, or even just by having the one worker split time collecting vs gardening

I was thinking along the same lines some time ago - even in 9.6 it seemed like the T2 Forager’s Garden was in some cases a downgrade - you traded flexibility for an increase in production. I like the idea that the T2 should have the option to also go out and forage.

Agreed.
The T2 forager should have more worker places so that half of them can still go out and forage, while the other half works the specialized garden.

Usually, every crop has a specific harvest season of only a few months per year.
meaning once a certain crop is planted, it’ll take time to grow and produce, during which gardeners are usually rather idle. And seeing how small those forager gardens are, they cannot require that much manpower to work.
It would make sense for them to go out and forage the available seasonal crops in the wild during that time. Like bird’s eggs in spring and mushrooms during fall.

The gardens should be used to supplement a specific crop that’s not sufficiently abundant in the region.

Or perhaps just make it an option to choose how many of the workforce of the forager’s hut is dedicated to gardening or outside foraging?
