Grimtools is already updated. We playtesters need to use it too you know. 
Zantai has said he’ll probably give Dammit permission to release it early same as he did for AoM so you can do some theorycrafting before FG drops.
I am aware of all relevant information and I figured it is already up for playtesters, however I am more interested when it will be available to us mortals

It’s not actually. Zantai gave him permission to release an updated grimtools a little while before AoM dropped and he’s probably going to do the same thing for FG. When that happens is up to Zantai to decide.
Zantai said that probably a few weeks before release, he will give Dammit permission to update grimtools.

Nope Zantai said grimtools would soon be released in the 18th September 2017 GM.

Do we know where in the world the FG content will be accessed? I know AoM is required, but will we have to clear through Malmouth to access? I have a character I leveled through Act 4, wondering if I can park him and play FG when it comes out or if I should play through AoM content.
No, Forgotten Gods will be accessible after you kill Warden Kreig in Act 1 if you want to jump in that early. It will be accessible at all the major hubs in the game.
So yes, you can park your character at Fort Ikon and access the content from there when it’s released.
