Forgotten Gods Main Menu Screen Preview

I hope the expansion will be released soon  . I like the Main Menu

He has a Paladin fetish, you should know that by now BB_Shockwave. :stuck_out_tongue:

Zantai. Is it possible to get the wallpaper for AOM beautiful witch bosoms once FG is released?

There’s already a wallpaper of Malmouth woman.

There’s already a wallpaper of Malmouth woman

I can never tell where the light is coming from in that picture, because my attention is drawn to ahem… other things…

it could be the sun

Looks good. To be honest even this will feel old after a good while. Endless legend game has like 8 starting screens.

Would devs suggest how much time it takes for them to create this? Looks good, not going to complain just curious.

kinda vivid, where’s the grim?

Your picture and AoM’s scene really aren’t that alike. AoM’s scene is practically nighttime with none of the small patches of light on the ground your picture has that would imply the presence of the sun higher up in the sky and not totally obscured by clouds.

In terms of plausibility my theory is more likely than yours. That’s how it’s better. Here’s the breakdown:

My theory:

  • Ray of light is merely a convenient unexplained light source used for practical real-life purposes (illumination of armour). This claim is not easily disproven. Nor would I really call this “artistic freedom” either (if what you really mean by that is “artistic license,” which is the proper phrase), which are words you put in my mouth. I merely said the source is unexplained.
  • Dawn in this context refers to the sun above the horizon but not too high up
  • The light of the sun itself is still yellow-white at dawn; any reddish color comes from the sky, not directly from the sun itself
  • Any reddish color from the sky would be obscured from the thick cloud cover anyway
  • There is a dawn sun behind that Crown Hill building
  • The light from the dawn sun enhances the light of the aetherfire, which very slightly illuminates the path behind the character
  • Aetherfire is not normally that bright, evidenced in-game by actually being in Malmouth and noting the lighting conditions there
  • Any yellow tint from the sun itself isn’t enough to overcome the natural green-ness of aetherfire.

Your theory:

  • Ray of light is from the sun. This is easily disproven by the lack of any significant upper sky-sourced illumination, patches of light or otherwise, on the path behind the character
  • Lack of explanation on the unusual brightness of the aetherfire from Malmouth when compared to in-game

Ultimately since it’s a fictitious scene with fantasy elements, it can’t ever be totally realistic. But I think my theory is more realistic than yours.

Probably in one of the antiquated temples in the background… I don’t know what’s with this weird fetish that you people has that everything needs to be dark muddy colors.

It’s almost as if you people think the sun is completely gone from the world.

Duh.

1.) Don´t you people have real problems?
1a.) You have too much free time on your hands.

This is my favorite of the three hands down.

The sun is treacherous. The bright light is not fooling anyone:)

And looking in the horizon you know your char will descend into dark and ominous areas

I LOVE IT.

Although the fact that this is so bright is…different?

Not normal for Grim Dawn…?

Anyway, this looks awesome.

Loading screens are nice and all but …

I can’t wait to actually play the expansion. Thanks for not releasing it this week as I’m currently obsessing over Destiny 2 Forsaken. Thanks also for NOT releasing an expansion the week AFTER a long holiday weekend. Seriously, how lame is THAT?

Grim Dawn is SOOOO unbelievably good. Even though a big part of me would like an easier Kubacabra fight, every time I get spanked by him it reminds me of the feeling when meeting the Butcher in Diablo the first time, “Ah … Fresh Meat!” It perfectly balances the depth of a traditional RPG with the fun of a hack and slash. It constantly gives the feeling of being incredibly overpowered with the humility of being totally owned by some random mob.

Sincerest thanks and admiration for a great experience.

Yup
At least some people understand the menu

It was not a good idea to preview this menu screen. Now All I can think everyday every second is the expansion:(

Looking at preview again I wish we can see some animals to like vulture in the background amd some skeletons in the ground… too much wishes:D

Looking forward to what the redecorated forums look like next :D. Really like the vibes this expansion is giving.

I don’t get why some people are so obsessed with darkness in ARPGs… I mean, I also love to explore all those dark dungeons as well, but not everything needs to be shrouded in eternal darkness… the game will still be “Grim” in the end.

You’re doing that anyway so nothing’s changed.

There are vultures in the background… click the image to view full size, they are there. And even worse than skeletons, there are weird clouds.

I SIGNED UP FOR GRIM DAWN EVERYTHING MUST BE DARKER THAN DARK, BLACKER THAN BLACK, DIABLOER THAN DIABLO.

I’d be totally sitting bricks if this expansions turns out more grim than malmouth. The preview tells us a lot of brightness fron the start. Im curious what the pyramid building has in store for us inside?

We have already seen tentacles and flesh formations and rape. What horror awaits us inthat seemingly hopeful area but I fear it leads us to a lot of gore.? We cannot downgrade in grim horrrorness right?

This preview is indeed misleading. Its like giving us hope but in reality its not. Thanks for pointing out people:eek:
