An AAR build now that there is some more lifesteal for AAR, honestly all the tools are here to make it now but there are a few FG devotions I want so I am waiting. Full elemental to aether conversion and good OA/DA/res, but absolutely shit armor and RR is spread out over too many abilities imo.

absolute glass cannon meme build, seven (7) (VII) mortar traps. Need I say more? Stone of halakor for +40%crit to mortar trap is absolutely the better choice, but I want more mortar traps. Shit DA.
EDIT: Upon further review, I have edited and updated this build, and I think it just might be viable now. Still has 7 mortar traps.

An attempt to turn the aegis of menhir as close to a default attack as I possibly could. An actual brick shithouse, but I’m just not sure if the aegis of menhirs CD is low enough for consistent damage, even with other abilities to cast in it’s downtime. Also not happy with devotions as they are, kinda want fist of vire and/or targos hammer?

Another meme build made solely to lag my friend’s game beyond repair while we do crucible. Will be pretty interesting, but the low attack speed bothers me. Also dogshit armor now that I look at it.

This was more of a rough draft if anything, just to remind myself that it exists. Cold caster drain essence reaper? Idk.
I’m sure none of these are any good, but if they give you some sort of idea on how to make a similar, actually good build, then that’s good enough for me.
Dervish acid ABB + wps: https://www.grimtools.com/calc/O2GDjjJV
Still a WIP as it was really tight in terms of points and seems a bit mediocre in terms of damage.
Also Dervish should really have better glove support. As of right now you have to pick between a poison glove that lacks attack speed and cold one that lack any kind acid support but boost ABB and one that is build around retaliation builds.
You know your comment had me take a second look at it, realized how much there is to improve. Came out with this. https://www.grimtools.com/calc/YZe7pJp2
Honestly now it’s looking like a real build. If it weren’t for the lack of spirit and cunning, I’d have some real DA. Fix that and the still-kinda-low-armor(even though since all this build would ever do is kite I don’t think itll be a huge deal) and I think it could go from joke build to actually viable.
hmm maybe, but I like my rune of kalastor. Plus I already have a purifier. Might try the new rings and armor anyways, lose kalastor damage but it just means I can stack heavy ordinance for even greater retardation.
I’m wondering, why does Ulzaad full constellation grant green affinity in addition to violet? That’s ridiculous. If you are going to physical dmg constellation set, you hardly need green affinity (perhaps just for Hydra or Chariot or Kraken, but if you need them, you can find other ways to get green affinity).
Why doesn’t it grant blue or yellow affinity instead? Yellow affinity would be the best choice, it’d make constellation paths for physical builds (both tanky and attacking) much more versatile, assuming you now have a lot of choices of 3rd tier constellations (Oleron, Vire, Azrakaa in addition to the Obelisk).
I can’t remember on which thread it was, there was a theorycraft discussion on Mortar Trap builds in FG. You should make a forum search. Lots of good ideas were discussed. I just saved one build that seemed interesting to me: GRIMTOOL
So you’re going Octavius, but not using Forcewave which will have a 1.3 second cooldown before % CDR. Instead you have the points in Blitz… why? You’ll have access to movement skills from FG augments.
You’re taking Oleron’s Rage instead of Divine Mandate on a Internal Trauma DOT build where Crit Damage from Divine Mandate is even more important than a standard auto attack build to increase your damage, since you can’t stack attack speed to increase IT damage.
Targo’s will be shit since it doesn’t actually apply its own IT damage and will get overridden by Aegis massive % weapon damage.
Same argument for Korvaak. Proc is especially useless for the same reason as above. T1 Bull Rush proc will give you more damage.
I’m going to be honest I completely forgot the skill augments existed. Now that I’m reminded of them yea blitz seems useless. I’ll follow the rest of your points to and see if I can keep the OA/DA balanced.
Is the +40% Crit damage better than the offensive ability of Oleron’s Rage? I don’t actually know the math breakdown on what OA is needed to crit often. The +40% crit damage is meaningless if you don’t have much of a chance to crit in the first place. Trash mobs will probably die too fast for any of that to matter anyway, so it is really only relevant when talking about bosses.
Glaring omission is Ascension + Clarity of Purpose. It’s literally Inquisitor Seal on wheels with +15% OA and nice anti-stunlock resists.
I’m still iffy about Targo though. I just can’t fathom why it doesn’t have its own IT damage; otherwise I’d be all over it in a block build.
If you’re willing to drop Targo, you can easily get the 5 purple from Owl, which has a nice 15% reflected damage reduction. Reflect is one of the biggest problem for IT since physical resist is more difficult to come by.
I might drop targo for the owl, I’ll see if the hammers are any use when FG drops. Literally the only reason I didn’t take ascension is because I’m lazy and don’t like messing around with temp buffs.
So doing some theory crafting on an Eye of Reckoning/Auramancer Paladin and I can’t quite work out what is a better main hand item.
Malakor’s infusion which adds damage and additional RR to aura of Censure: https://www.grimtools.com/db/items/8447
Technically the additional RR and Damage from Empyrions Mercy is more than Malakor’s, but Malakor’s gives me a temp buff that heals me every 8 seconds on enemy death as well as +3 to aura of censure which will likely add more RR to the skill itself.
The build is a Fire/Lightning build that will purely use EoR while weakening and damaging enemies with 3-4 Auras (Rune Armour of Ignaffar, Censure, Tainted ruby/avatar of chaos and Empyrions Mercy if I use it) and a few other skills depending on item buffs (might use Vire’s Might and Judgement to proc devotions on attack then spin until everything dies)
But what do people think are the ideal primary to use?
Odd, seems they took out the pierce to acid conversion to Briarthorn from the Ghol set, or the X% physical to acid to all pets. This is a bit strange… Unless they just encourage us to use a Scorpos Pummeler for this purpose if we want to use the set.
