Forgotten Gods Theorycrafting Thread

Why does everybody seem to dump around 200 of the skill points into Oathkeeper and then use what little are left in the second mastery?

Any update to this build so that it has better OA while still having around 1 second cooldown?

Bwc=black water cocktail with IK=Infernal Knight Set. I have to say it again: How good a mastery combo is, greatly depends on your build. You can go for a tanky s&b dervish, for a glass cannon dw dervish, for a caster dervish, and the same is true for every other mastery combo. You can just generally say, that most builds involving Soldier are rather tanky, most Nightblade builds are dual wield and demolitionists are usually ranged. But even that is not true in every build.
For EoR builds: Warlord and Archon have most EoR support, so they are probably rather effective with it.

I’ve been browsing the forums to see if anyone’s done a retaliation build that focuses around Aegis of Menhir (Reprisal) and Righteous Fervor (Retribution) as they both add quite a bit of retal to attack damage.

Just loosely brainstorming (not finalized at all) I was thinking something like this but haven’t seen anyone else doing this even on the collection of FG theorycrafts, though I may have missed it.

Any thoughts or has anyone seen something similar?

Friends, I need a vitality caster Pox build. I have a 68 Cabalist and due to not playing it for a while, have lost the build I was following. Please help. It doesn’t necessarily need to be FG-updated.

If I want to make a build using Guardian of Empyrion and Ascension, would I be better going Solider or Occultist for second mastery?

Worked quiet some hours on this build and would appreciate some criticism. TY https://www.grimtools.com/calc/b28p4je2

Here’s a potential pet OK build based on ~ maximum pet retaliation. It’s shaman + beastcaller set + heart of mountain…but what you gonna do - not much choice in gear and Shaman pet builds kinda always look the same in gear. Also not a fan of the specific affix/prefix on this off-hand but I got lazy with resistances:

Archon pet retal/bleed

(never played this. Just TC)

I myself am looking for a good TSS build. There are some in the compendium but they are all old now. I’m not sure a good second mastery to take.

Has anyone tried lowering the cooldown on Bone Harvest to less than a second? I don’t plan on playing this in my life time (due to the double greens required) so may as well share it. This is my take on Vitality Bone Harvest on a cooldown of 0.7s.

If someone has already posted it with a better version or picks the concept up and improves it, let me know, would be curious to see how it fares

Edit: Double Ravager Eyes would get around 2800 DA before OA shred. Probably worth doing to be safer.

Also another question - how come I’m noticing retaliation Warlord builds favouring cunning over physique as opposed to physical sword and board Warloed builds which pump physique only it seems? The skill builds are quite similar otherwise.

Retaliation builds lack OA on their items and want to get hit, that’s how retal works. Normal builds have generally more natural OA and want to be hit less so they invest in Physique.

@Belzzzz I know I’m very late the convo but thanks for all the input on the build - I’ve add RF for default to increase AS and proc SS, although I still with something provided a pure RF physical conversion - not that I’m relying on RF as a damage dealer.

After a decent amount of playing on the weekend and 5 separate completions of FG main story I’ve come away with some good ideas of which builds are really viable and really fun:

My original Aura of Censure / Eye of Reckoning Paladin is probably the most fun I’ve had in this game to date - combined with the Guardians and Judgement - clearing adds and DPS’ing bosses is just cruisy as and the build feels extremely tanky - managed to overcap all resistances by at least 25% across all of them which is nice.

My Radaggan’s Deceiver (changed a bit since this, but cbf re-doing) is still the laziest build I’ve ever played… Managed to clear everything pretty quickly even considering the fact 90% of all damage is dealt from Aura of Censure and procs…

Rah’Zin’s set Witch Hunter is an absolute beast (older build in link) due to crazy amounts of RR and HUGE ADCtH - 25-27% flat with over 100k DPS on average means as long as you’re hittin’, you ain’t dyin’. But as an alternative to Acid Dervish - would HIGHLY recommend this build.

Currently working on Bysmiel’s Trinkets build with double bird / briarthorn to test if the set is worthy of using ALL of the accessory slots :stuck_out_tongue:

Next step is Fire / Vitality Oppressor to see how the Blightlord’s set behaves.

Transferring my original thread to this post

Cold PB/devastation spellbreaker using the new Harra’s set and Arcanum Frigus weapon, and no greens.

Grimtools

  • High mirror/nullification/BB uptime due to CDR mechanisms (Star Pact, Aeon’s, Eternity relic)
  • Good mobility
  • Decent CC resistances
  • Greens not required
  • Nightblade and arcanist FTW
  • Low health
  • Mediocre OA/DA
  • Potential energy issues
  • CT/devastation still look like aether (I think?)

The first of the new FG relics I found being Yugol’s Hunger, I was thinking about some Acid Spinning Dervish

https://www.grimtools.com/calc/lNkl8dl2

Yo man, not tryin to disappoint you but imma say its not the best approach.
Skillpoint distribution seems to be suboptimal in my opinion.

Concerning the relic: i think there are much better choises for dervish p.e deathstalker for resistance reduction or nidallas outbreak for the nice onhit proc and the +1 to all skills.

I hope I have been helpful

Oh I’m aware the build idea is very gimmicky. Dual wield acid RF + WPS is indeed a far more efficient way to build a Dervish.

I’m just one of those weirdos having fun trying to make a very sub-optimal build concept into something vaguely usable  (not to say that the idea in my previous message is the best way to build around Yugol’s Hunger, actually going Witch-Hunter would probably be a better choice to start with)

I made a thread but didn’t get any answers. Maybe I’ll be more lucky here. Aegis is endgame viable. I wonder how good Judgment and Vire’s Might are ? Aegis and Judgment are “meeeeh” while leveling and Vire’ Might is powerful for trash clearing. How are they at 100 with good stuff ?

Vire’s might:

It’s pretty good with vanquisher. It’s still not high shard but it’s enough to melt bosses as long as you use it properly, which I haven’t learned yet.
