Exoskeleton armour:

Finding Oroboruuk to finish off this last enemy.

More character customization. Something like change hair collour and height. But I don’t think this is going to happen. :undecided:
- Zantai said no new player models, so no.
Not to mention, there’s no point in changing hair color or hair style since you can never really see your hair, literally about 10 minutes into the game you will have a leather cap covering half your head.
As for height… lol what
RTS alternate game mode confirmed?
Does there really need to be an ending?
If it’s one of those bs about circle repeating itself ad inf (looking at you End Times ya bastard) think I’ll cry a bit.
Since Cairn is more or less fucked maybe our hero takes the fight into void to face the enemy at their own turf?
Basically how ever the story ends its still going to be “Been there, done that” so why not just enjoy the ride?
Are you telling me we can’t be half naked like the guy in the picture?
Models for that already exist in the game
Big Z said no, so I guess not. You could always make a mod for it yourself of course.
Some weird advertising then. Oh well. Also literally do not have the time to learn modding.
Why is it weird advertising? Did you expect to play as our current loading lady in AoM? The screenshots are meant to give you a taste of the atmosphere/theme of the expansions aren’t they? This one is desert/desert warrior and fits that.
True. But as a player, now or old, you also think: Man maybe i’ll get to do that!
One wouldn’t think, oh, they won’t have time for that anyway, it’s just for atmosphere, I’ll probably have to learn how to mod:)
As an older player I know what their priorities are in general. Still, I had hopes since the model exists in the game and they made an expac poster with a half naked dude
As for the LAdy in AoM, you do have similar apparel from Possessed Archmages and Myrmydons. It’s not 100% accurate but it’s the same type of look,“atmosphere” …which is all I’d want
I still believe we are in a situation where we are just trying to survive. There will always be the threat of the Chtonians, because Ch’thon is incapable of dead and will always try to return from the void. The same goes for Aetherials, because it’s very unlikely for a Aetherial to die. And it seems the primordial gods and other gods have left this world, they are not going to interfere.
It seems we are on a path to become ascended but that doesn’t mean we stand among the gods. I believe there are big differences in powers where the primordials are the strongest. We have celestial beings, demi-gods and ascendants and whatever more there is. We only evolved from being a ant to something slightly bigger.
shattering the souls of the henchmen army that we will receive you mean
full meta including skill selection trees and devotions for henchmen along with multiple pathed romance quests and party banter?
sound good to me.
mogdrogen already told us in vanilla that everything is on a loop anyways so that part is moot. he even tells us where in the loop we are.
#freethechesticles
This is an alright mechanic, since, of course, it’s the main mechanic of almost any ARPG.
The point of survival is being hunted down, fighting for the last crock of space, fearing any new coming day. However, as of now, humanity is on strategic rise. It pushes off great offence so far as eradicating high ranking enemies and taking down entire cities. This isn’t really about survival anymore, but more like competition. A race, if you would like.
As long as humanity continues to secure tactical advantages over the enemy, then it’s not really exinct, far from it. Moreover, exinct is too strong of a word to describe the state of humans in GD right now, since, from your own words, there are probably several thousands humans still alive across all of Cairn. As long as they can stay united and determined, they will succeed in at least repelling the invaders.
This one I can agree with, even though it severely diminishes our accomplishments in Malmouth, which makes the narrative suffer from the story standpoint.
Ah, but this one is an assumption as well. In a world, where such things exist, and where arcane energies flow nothing is impossible. Long ago I mentioned several ways to counter chthonic and aetherial presence in Cairn, going as far as making an alliance with the latter to combat Chthon. Furthermore, we know for sure that Aetherials are splitting up in disagreeing with humanity policy.
Or PC can lead humanity into a completely new world, why not? Anyway, you are wrong. Humanity evolved from sticks and stones to a world we see today. People of Cairn have even more resources available to them, so I fail to see your point in how they won’t be able to reassure themselves, should the possibility come. Even more so, because Cairn has literal magic. They already adapted.
50\50 here. Perhaps, there is a way to cure Cairn, but maybe not. We have to wait and see.
Incorrect, since there are ways to fuse several genres into one. And even then, I don’t play GD for that, being on the forums long enough, you should have realised this already. Besides, I fully agree that GD doesn’t need that, since it’s a classic ARPG.
Hmm, I wouldn’t be against that as well.
Of course. Any game that establishes strong lore along with solid narrative at least SHOULD have one.
See, you understand.
Yes, people have devised several theories on this matter, this was one of them.
Simple ARPG stories, like Diablo or Titan Quest follow this formula to the bone, YET they still have completed endings, with all subplots finished too.
On the other hand, GD has pretty ambitious plot with many subplots tied to it, progressing in parallel. I will say this directly. If the game with actual substance gets a so-called cop-out ending, then it’s a badly written game. In this case, writers basically got too overambitious and couldn’t synchronize gameplay-story-investments into a coherent conclusion. As I see now, Crate definitely has some sort of a story carcass, but will they be able to pull a satisfying result, I wonder? This for example…
… isn’t a cohesive plot point, since it renders null everything we do in the game from a story standpoint.
See above.
Indeed, but Chthon was basically rendered useless for many centuries, which proved to be an effective solution.
As for Aetherials, there are indeed quite a few ways to take the plot into an interesting realm, without relying too much on your standard cliches.
They are, but calling a being that can take down powerful demigods and compete with godlike creatures, such as Mog and Ravager an ant is a massive exaggeration.
ants can lift 100 times their weight and fall from heights of like 10,000 times their height safely
so calling our hero an ant is quite the compliment and makes sense in a way.
Well gravity plays a big part in the equation and specific traits that they have and we don’t. If spiders and ants, or other chtinous insects were all 3-4 feet large we’d be screwed. Forget aehterials, Ch’thonics and forgotten Gods
We only fought Mogdrogen’s avatar which is only a small portion of his powers.
Weeeeel sol.
It’s better than havin “It was all just a crazy dream”-option.
Should REALLY farm some Rover rep.
Does that mean that in GD2 we have a new constellation “Hero of Cairn” with nodes based on previous saves classes?
That would be cool.
Wondering thought have many more acts there will be before the end.
GG for this topic but I hope the first post will be edited when we know more info
