Sure, but is that apparent to the player? No. The player lives in the real world, and almost certainly expects years to be counted from January 1st. As has been mentioned, the game itself refers to real-world dates (e.g. “Sept.”), and without explicit statements to the contrary, the player will, quite naturally, assume that refers to the 9th month of the year.

Looks to me like our villages are on the ancient Mesopotamian calendar (New Year started on the vernal equinox, which they pegged at around 25 March). :upside_down_face:

Don’t get me wrong, I quite like the in game calendar being more closely tied to the actual seasons than our real world one; I just think this needs to be clearly spelled out to the player.
