Out of this bunch, I like Magicka but not love it… big fan of the HoMM games… Also really enjoyed the Hitman games I’ve tried…

I did love Magicka - but it shines in multiplayer. Good dlc, but the base game is very cheap.

Bioshock was decent, not a big fan though. Couldn’t finish the 2nd game and the first game I had to drag myself through, even though it’s highly recommended by a lot of people and reviewers.

Hitman… I think they’re all dated? Nice ideas, but sometimes poorly executed.

Hitman pack looks good, never played the games but the demos were all very fun.

Heroes 5, while not heroes 3 is still very fun. IMO not really worth the full price for heroes 6, but I’ve never played it. I don’t feel it could possible add enough content to make it THAT much better than 5.

Rochard looks like an interesting platformer, but meh.

Bioshock - very good, everyone knows this haha.

Dead Island, imo worth the money. I loved the game, very fun.

LA Noire - I might pick it up. not sure yet. looks like fun but ehhhh

I want to check out LA Noire, I’ve mostly heard good things about it and it’s made some people-I-respect-the-opinions-of’s GOTY lists, but I’m just too backlogged atm (mass effect 2 and 3, skyrim, dungeon siege 3 coop, renegade ops+dlc coop, to name a few) to be able to really “sit down” with it, and it doesn’t seem like a type of game you burn through with the sole intention of finishing it asap.

I’m one of the few people who wasn’t so stoked about Bioshock. It might be because of the forced mouse acceleration which made it a massive headache to play. There’s a 700 page thread (no joke) about it on the 2k forums where people mess around with anything from custom drivers, registry edits, to different mice, but there’s just no helping it. Support will just tell you that the game is fine and that you need to reinstall your drivers.

Haven’t played Daggerdale, but I did some research on it a while ago since it was a coop rpg and I didn’t find a single kind word about it. Not one. Looking at videos I’m also not seeing the “thing” in it.

Would like to check out Hoard, I was prepared to buy a 4-pack but currently the 4-pack is more expensive than 4 individual copies. I’ll hold off until tomorrow and see if it’s an error on their part and it gets fixed.

MMH 6… 50%, did i call it or did i call it?

told yas, was certain, imo, it is worth it, for 25$ a game, which, personally, i will spend hundreds of hours… in single player alone? yep thats worth it…

if yas want more info about it, check out the topic i made, has every detail about every race… though it has changed a bit, basic idea remains the same.

Bottom line, i’m getting it

Sorry for this being so late, I pulled my back this morning and have been in agonizing amounts of pain.

L.A. Noire (75% off) - $12.49

An interesting concept but the engine has a great deal to be desired, and the game itself plays like a dumbed down point and click adventure.

Because of the motion capture technique they used for the faces, they were unable to use bump mapping as this would require a bump map for every frame of animation as opposed to a single bump map per texture, the result is a game that looks like its from 10 years ago.

There really is not an open world to speak of, you drive from mission to mission and that’s about it. I opted to let the computer drive because it just wasn’t fun and seemed like needless busy work.

The cases themselves follow the same pattern, find clues, interrogate people and link the clues to the statements. The voice acting is spotty, some being great, some being beyond awful but overall the cast of characters remains interesting.

For $12 this game is well worth the price, just so long as you know exactly what you are getting yourself into.

Hitman franchise (75% off) - individual games for $2.49; all 3 games for $6.24

Hitman is a stealth shooter. You get your target and can go in quiet or noisy. The fewer people you kill, the less you are noticed the higher you score. On top of that it has an interesting plot and some great level design. The games are kinda old now and the first hitman requires some workarounds to get it to support widescreens but other than that the series runs fine.

Magicka (75% off) - $2.49; all DLC 75% off

Cute, funny and charming ARPG with a unique spell casting system and co-op based around the concept that you can and will kill your friends. Very fun chaos and remember, Vlad is not a Vampire.

Dungeons & Dragons Daggerdale (66% off) - $5.09

So buggy most people can’t even finish a game. Skip this one.

Dead Island (50% off) - $19.99; DLC 50%

The trailer sadly set unrealistic expectations, but the game as it stands is a fun, and quite large hack and slash zombie gorefest. The game is intense and atmospheric when played solo but in a group it simply turns into a zombie curb stomp. Easily worth $20 to play solo or with a group of friends.

Bioshock games (75% off) - $4.99 each

Bioshock is an odd duck. On one hand the story, atmosphere, setting and characters are fantastic. On the other the Gameplay is clumsy and somewhat repetitive. Bioshock 2 was needless, it really adds nothing but has one or two stunning scenes near the end that are almost worth playing for. $10 for both is a steal.

Grid (75% off) - $3.74

Precision closed circuit racer that simultaneously punishes every mistake fiercely, and yet lets you have a do over. Worth a couple of dollars if you like the genre, very skippable if you are not a racing fan.

check steam, new set of deals? ss3 is back, along with skyrim and lots of others…

pretty much the biggest sellers they had this last month are back, so they more money, duh :stuck_out_tongue:

Out of curiosity, Skyrim is 33.49 in euros, what is it states-side?

Not sure if this is accurate, but I think so;

It says 40 bucks. Heh, finally a fair conversion.

I guess it’s the end of the sale, unless you missed previous deals.

This was a pretty good sale, imho. Got a lot of games;
Homefront,
Shogun 2 + DLC,
Serious Sam 3 (for 16 bucks, thanks to Fathersquid)
Serious Sam Double D
SPAZ
Bulletstorm (for 5 bucks, thanks to Fathersquid)
Limbo
Sonic Generations (not sure why I got that game, saw some people on here recommend it and it got good reviews, but my backburner is ever growing…)
Recettear - heh, same story as with Sonic
Dungeon Defenders DLC
Magicka DLC

For a total of around 78,50 euros heh.

What did everyone else get?

Got the following games

Witcher 1
Witcher 2
Might and Magic Heroes 6
Clash of heroes
SPAZ
Limbo
Sins of a solar empire trinity (had the original but was cheaper to buy whole than buy the two expansions on their own )
Civ 5 DLCs…

total roughly of eumm about 75-90$

Wasn’t witcher a little cheaper on the gog sale? I think they did half off as well.

yeah i think it was but meh, just for the ease of having everything on steam, and not multiple platform and download locations, it was worth it, i mean… witcher 1 was 2.5$ and 2 was like 10

Gods, trying to back track to what I picked up seems an impossible task. It was all with Xmas and left over Birthday money so not a cent came out of the bank account, which is good as I doubt I will be in a position to buy a game for the next year.

… first if you won that many games, i got eiter REALLY unlucky or something…

2nd… how did you BUY DotA 2… it isnt even for sale… and you won what… a beta key?

Beta Invites were available in the Gift pile as “DOTA 2 Hardware Survey” each granting access to the DOTA 2 Beta. They were worth $30+ each until Valve tried to prop up the Holiday sale with them when they suddenly ran out of 3rd party games and coupons.

On the Steam Trade Forums people were selling them, I snagged one for Shogun 2 + DLC, which at the time cost $13. I then traded the Beta Invite for a copy of Tropico 4. Soon after the market crashed.

but… i want to play DotA :’(!

If you had said something to that effect days ago when I had them, I would have simply given you a copy man.

Sadly I can’t give you what I don’t have anymore.

haha its alright, ive been waitinf for long enough for a true sucessor to DotA (no i dont like LoL and HoN used to be p2p sooo…) i’ll wait! at least you got a shitload of good games man… how many acheivement did you have… i got like 15 and all i had was anywhere between 25 and 50% coupons as well as 12 coal
