I’ve seen a Circuit Breaker mentioned here and there.
I intuitively get it from the context as something of a “panic button”, but would like a more proper definition, please.
imo, as i’ve come to use them/understand the terms
panic button would be something you activate, more manual, think Mirror, Blade Barrier, Cluster, Mark of Torment
Circuit Breaker is an automatic action, a proc intended to save your life/"break the circuit"failsafe, like Ghoul, Blast Shield, Menhir’s will etc, low(er) %hp based trigger effects, with some sort of (strong) defensive effect meant to help save you from dying in that moment.

Yes. A circuit breaker, to me, is a save-your-ass defensive proc that occurs when you have lost a significant proportion of your life.
A panic button is, well … I am sure that everyone on this forum is always calm and in perfect control of their characters, and never mashes buttons frantically while swearing under their breath. Never happens.
