Grim dawn is not a solo game, it’s a multiplayer game.
This is completely wrong, Grim Dawn IS a single player game. There’s absolutely no competition between anyone, it’s just between you and the game. The game is even advertised by the developers as being single player focused and the multiplayer it has is very barebones.
Also, if it was multiplayer focused, why the hell did the developers allowed mod tools?
I don’t know where the hell did you get the “Grim Dawn is a multiplayer game” from, but you are completely wrong. It seems you think this game is somehow a MMO.
Actually, if you can play the same content in multiplayer mode and in solo, it is multiplayer unfortunately. A solo game can have a multiplayer mode that is not directly relly on the solo game mod for example, but Grim dawn is. And I don’t know why there’s ( for another time) people that pass their time to argue with people to defend their mind. The goal is to to tell others what you find good or not. If I say that tools destroyed the game for me, it destroyed the game for me. That it. if you can’t sleep well with that, just pass. i cannot be wrong because it is the feeling that I have, and you know nothing about it.
That is the dumbest logic i ever read. There’s a thing called Co-op and it doesn’t mean the game is multiplayer focused.
And i don’t care if you criticize the game, go right ahead. But spouting lies like the game being “focused on multiplayer just because you can play the campaign in co-op” is what really irks me.
Again, the game is single player focused, the end. Criticizing the game through something the game is not is not criticism in the slightest.
Gotta love these multiplayer games that have next to no balance around their multiplayer.
Except it’s not an opinion, it’s a fact. The entire game is balanced around single player, the devs themselves say the game is single player focused, the people who made the game said this. How in the world saying “game is multiplayer” is an opinion when the developers say the game is single player focused?
Hiding behind the “my opinion” wall has a limit and you broke it. Might as well say cars are motorcycles because both have wheels.
It’s not an opinion, it is a fact. A fact, advertised by the developers themselves. You are literally trying to stop the train with a stick here.
Multiplayer is an addition, nothing more, nothing less. The entire game can be played solo just fine.
Also, just an advice. Refrain from posting phrases like * i cannot be wrong because it is the feeling that I have, and you know nothing about it*.
You are talking like the game as no multiplayer and it is like Prince of Persia or something. I don’t get it. As soon as you can trade items in multiplayer, it is what it is dudes. That it. Of course it is a solo game. But with a multiplayer option. So it cannot be only solo. What is that hard to understand. it is not because you are 3 against me that you’ll change my mind.
A game can easily have multiplayer and not be multiplayer focused. Are actually paying attention to your logic? So, the second the game can be beaten through multiplayer, it’s a multiplayer? What? Single player is still there and the game can be beaten through it.
Or does multiplayer have higher priority than single player?
And now you are saying it’s a solo game with multiplayer option? Dude, make up your mind. Is it a multiplayer focused game or a solo game with multiplayer? There’s a big difference.
The story line and stuff is solo of course. But the items and build is is the multi player categorie. The game cannot be the same if you retire the mutiplayer. that is why it is a multiplayer game for me. A single player game for me is an entirely game made for single player with no multiplayer functions that can change something in your single player world. In grim dawn, you can trade, give items, help a friend. How it is not multiplayer ? The thing is that you should see it in the other sense, it is actually a single player and and a multiplayer game. So there’s multiplayer that it.
Well, finally someone told you what it really is. So just introduce a gamebreaking bug in the next patch when you talk to jarvis in sp and develop a new game from scratch. And please get it right this time and make it a sp game. Thanks.
Well, if an hundred people are against me, i don’t care. I’m holding my point. Theres probably a lot of people that is playing the game for its multiplayer, I can’t be alone.
Listen, you can, of course, play this game for multiplayer with any people you like. But calling the ENTIRE game multiplayer-based because of that is strange and illogical.
Again, multiplayer is an addition, a feature, based around single player experience. That’s it.
You are welcome to treat the game as a multiplayer experience if you find that enjoyable, but claiming it’s a multiplayer game first and foremost is simply not true.
I’m sure there are others who wish otherwise; people who would like ladders…competitions…closed “secure” MP…
I don’t agree with you. Sadly. For me the single player is like the begining part of the game. After, it starts to be multiplayer. Grim Dawn cannot be in the same categorie than Fable for me sorry. The way I see it @Zantai, is that people that are claiming since 2 or 3 pages that it is solo, play the game in a multiplayer way anyway. And yes people will hate me for what I just said XD AS I said, the main story line experience is solo, no doubt, that this is the essence of the game. But all the other features are mixed in a multiplayer mind. So this is why it’s multiplayer for me. It can’t be a solo game for me.
UnknownDude, you are indeed entitled to your opinion but you are essentially trying to come to an objective conclusion using your own subjective reasons. You cannot compare Fable or Prince of Persia with Grim Dawn because they are separate types of games. The sole reason why people here are upset over your statement that GD is a multiplayer-focused game is because you are refusing to acknowledge one simple fact that a multiplayer-focused game cannot have any mods or offline support as essentially, multiplayer needs to be fairly implemented, which cannot happen when offline/mod support is present.
