Gold is not stored in the vault

I noticed that most of the gold is not actually stored in the vault. Why is that? If there is a vault specifically build for storing gold, one would have thought that that is where the gold would be stored?

I’ve found that Gold ingots do not necessarily go into the Vault unless I specifically ‘uncheck’ it from all the other types of storage. And it frequently takes several years to get all the Gold into the Vault after I first build the Vault(s) through ‘natural attrition’ of Gold out of the other storage areas.
As far as I can tell, there is still no way to order anything moved from one storage to another, no matter how much you desire it or how much it makes sense.

Have you tried moving all your gold into the trading post and then moving it back to your settlement? Putting it into the trading post should remove it from those areas, and if they are unchecked it should go into the vault. I haven’t had this problem, but it’s a work around you might consider trying??

But then the gold gets stuck in the trading post because there’s a bug with it. Villagers can still access it, but it won’t show up in any storage facilities.

Also, I confess, I usually don’t have that much gold in storage to worry about it until I reach the first Tier 4 residences. Up to that point, it flows out almost as fast as it flows in unless I’ve tapped a bunch of Gold deposits on the map - and even then, I just spend it faster!

But do you really need it too? It may not show up in a building, but it’s not in the post and still shows the proper amount in the upper right corner and eventually does make its way there. I just checked my game this morning and all of mine made it to the vault. Not sure how long it took, but it’s all there as of now.

Only reasons this even matters is raiders and space in a building. If the gold is moved, bug or not, it’s still “in” the only building it’s flagged to sit in, the game just seems to have difficulty in actually placing it there as it wants to place it in the others first and doesn’t display what it’s actually having to do. And the only reason I can figure is because the storage building is obtained at a lower tier, and therefore is the first building flagged as a deposit spot.
