Just curios.
- Don’t have builds that use it even as a onepointer.
1 pointer for devotions on pets. Otherwise skip entirely.
can i vote both second and third option?
I think you’re expected to vote second in this case.
Dito. I tried it before AoM, but after not liking it I never picked it again.
That’s what I did
- Max it for fun and fast early levelling.
Otherwise…yeah, maxed for Wildblood and nothing else. I suppose I could also use it for kiting on something like a Gutripper build, but…eh. shrug
I also wouldn’t mind seeing how an Acid/Poison Grasping Vines build fares at some point since there is a bit of item support for that, but it’s pretty far down the list.
I’d max it on a build where I want it to be my main or secondary damage dealer. Otherwise, 1 pointer for proccing devotions.
It’s workable (I’ve been able to kill Moosilauke with it) but massively outclassed. Damage is really low due to no Physical->Acid conversion skill modifier for Vines and Shaman lacking Acid RR hampers it by forcing you to try and pick up more from gear (which is also not easy as you get forced into Deathstalker and/or Contagion).
Not something I’d really recommend.
voted for option 5 because so
now I cant even remember using that skill ever its damage sucks apart from proccing devotions. It needs some item mods where it spits poision or explode when people go near it like a similar mechanic to those plantz in ugdenbog;)
also putting a transmuter like blade or butcher vines would be dope. A slicing sound when people go inside it would be satisfying that would make blade trap more obsolete than ever
Imo main issue with acid/poison GV is it’s unclear what are you going to supplement it with. GV takes care of trash, but you need a skill vs bosses. Spammable DEE? I was told vitality is straight better. Acid RE? I was told that vitality is straight better. So dunno, some exotic acid/poison DW trickster?
I like maxing it with bleed conjurer. Having plus skills Ofc heh.
Had a feeling Acid/Poison GV would be a bit crap. Oh well. Acid/Poison being a bit underwhelming in ways is nothing new.
Yeah, it’s a bit disappointing how its like this. Acid RE does seem to also have a fair bit of item support as well though, so I might give that a shot sometime too and see how it goes. I’ll add it to the pile of things I want to eventually try but will probably never get around to.
If you’re doing a Vines-centric character/build, you want to be casting them as often as possible to get the most out of them. With the Conduit and a bit of CDR, you can get it’s cooldown to 1s with a duration of 6s so you can keep around 5 maintained if you’re constantly throwing them out. Makes for an insane devotion proccing engine as each one ticks it’s direct damage twice a second.
Best skill then to pair it with I think would be a strong cooldown-based nuke or shotgun like some of the ones you suggested. I went with transmuted DEE which is ok but not amazing nowadays, if I had Vitality->Acid conversion, it’d be better but I couldn’t find a way to fit it in without dropping Vine’s potential or much needed RR.
Edit: If you built around Vitality Vines though and spamming those, I imagine it basically has none of Acid Vine’s problems whilst being a much stronger build with more options for a shotgun/nuke like Doom Bolt, Bone Harvest, Ravenous Earth etc… Has vastly more leech too for survivability.
I still wait till they buff it. Not kidding. This skill is trash even with the set for it. I made a vitality/bleeding build once, vitality was the secondary damage to kill stuff that was resistant to bleed, as bleed was my main damage. I’ve hit 40k/hit. Killed about 20 monsters, swapped back to Bloodrager with two Seals of Blades (or whatever is the name of these bleeding blade thing seals). I’ve hit about the same damage, but in this particular situation, my overall damage increased drastically (about doubled, maybe even more) and I’ve never picked Grasping Vines ever again aside of proccing devotions.
If the set would give 100% WD instead of 40%, I’d consider it usable, but not viable.
Man, you can stack 5-6 vines on the top of each other. 5-600% WD per tick would be OP AF.
Its possible to stack only 4 of them and one of vines expire before second tick happen.
It has 6 seconds duration with Conduit. Thats 5 stacks with 0 cdr.
6 was an exaggeration i admit.
So they actually stack?
Would each patch have it’s own chance to proc things or they are unified in a single instance?
I`m not even sure if they stack at all, kek https://youtu.be/XKzm9pqGYv0?t=200
