You should also check the Grim Misadventures series if you have not already.
watched the stream earlier. Its to bad I had to leave early I enjoyed being able to ask questions and hear answers live over stream haha. For a game in alpha its in dam good shape. The battles are just in a whole new league compared to TQ. TQ was very fast and easy to kill off mobs, here it seems much more difficult and can’t just tank your way through. Love it. I have been following the game since it showed up on kickstarter but was new to that and didn’t pledge at the time. Followed the fourms until i decided to make an account randomly lol. Other than that just a vet TQ player joining in on the GD frenzy
Hey guys, just wanted to say that this game completely blew me away.
I wasn’t really a fan of titan quest but I wanted to give this game a try, and I’m so glad i did! Played a hardcore commando and unfortunately got killed at level 13, but I can’t wait to go through the game again. Anyway, I can’t wait until the full release and I’m really impressed with what six passionate designers can create.
Also, this game creates a GREAT atmosphere, felt much more immersive than all the other arpgs i’ve played, which says a lot :D.
Welcome to the forums and I’m glad that you are enjoying the game
Nice to see the progress, thanks for your hard work!
Really looking forward to the Beta!
Hello guys,
I am new here and i wanna now if there is any schedule about when beta will be out, or act 3, full release e.t.c?!
Thanks in advance, looking forward to buy this game!
Keep up the good work!
act 3 is sighted for the end of the year atm, and crafting to come before that (few more weeks please? :D) no schedule on beta or a full release to my knowledge yet though, but i imagine beta MAY come with act 3?
I would guess that beta is either released with Act 2 or technically with Act 3.
I say act 2 because originally players who bought the patron package and had access to the game in beta would be given access when Act 2 was released. However two things:
1: Crate has given early access to everyone.
2: Grim Dawn doesn’t have a typical Alpha/Beta.
I’m not really sure where to ask this, but … Will the disc version of the game be independent from Steam ?
I ask because my Internet is shoddy at best, which is why I payed for the disc version, but while I have been playing the Steam version, I am constantly being kicked off Grim Dawn, and it always happens when I lose Internet connection.
I played GD yesterday and I was kicked out of the game a total of 8-times.
I tried submitting the error report, but that too froze, because my Internet was out.
Please tell me that the disc version will be independent from Steam, because my crappy Internet was the reason why I chose the disc version in the first place.
I sincerely hope so. I bought for the disc copy too as I loath Steam and can’t wait to uninstall it again.
Can’t you launch in offline mode?
^ Thanks Shalie, for providing the link on how to switch it to off-line mode.
I will definitely give that a try. Grim Dawn is my first game with Steam, so I am relatively clueless when it comes to steam.
Once again, Thank-you.
they’re only using Steam now because it makes it really easy for them to release updates while the game is in alpha/beta
but the final version of the game will not require Steam
do you need to be connected to the internet to play the game now ?
I’ll have to check when I get home, but I don’t believe so
a lot of Steam games allow you to just play the game off line
@Shawnmck - don’t forget to go back online when updates come out. Otherwise, it should work well. I keep my desktop online and my laptop offline (only going online to get updates) and never have a problem.
I switched steam to off-line mode and played for a few hours last night (which is usually when the Internet is the worst), and everything was fine. It could be just me, but the game seemed to run better (smoother) too.
So Thanks again for the suggestion.
Great! Now you only need to remember to turn back on-line for new updates.
I have another question now…
I recently got to the end of Act 2, and maxed out my character (level 35).
I have run into plenty of enemies & bosses that go up to level 36 to 45, so I assume there will be a updated maximum level…so my question is this…If I’ve been playing with my maxed out character and have killed numerous enemies and bosses…will that experience be automatically adjusted when the maximum limit is increased, or is all that experience basically wasted ?
So when the limit is increased in a later patch, will my character go from 35 to say 37, or will it start anew?
In other words, at max level 35 with my experience bar maxed…am I still accruing experience, or am I just killing enemies for naught ? (experience-wise)
Thanks in advance.
Basically, you stop gaining XP when you reach level 35. When the new level cap is raised, you can earn more XP.
none of the XP you earn after hitting the level cap will carry over, you will have to re earn it, so up to you if you want to carry on playing or wait until the next installment is released.
Everything you do at lvl 35 is just gaining you items/iron/components, no xp, but farming is what arpg’s are all about
