This sounds like an old school “You just bought a whole new game!” type expansion, something that is sorely lacking in todays gaming industry. Very excited.
Would there be Emporewed versions of the ilvl75 Legendary sets like Death Marked etc, or alternatively will there be a recipe (very very high cost one) to upgrade ilvl 75 legendary to whatever is the new max (probably 90?)?
My guess would be legendaries will stay the same. lvl 75 legendaries will still be just as powerful, just like lvl 50 legendaries are used all the time and are still bis for most builds. I could be wrong though
Awesome! I will spread the word far and wide - and, quite frankly, It has been far too long since the community has been treated to such a great undertaking. So - as I’m sure you’ve all been hearing a lot - THANK YOU! - this is a true breath of fresh air and greatly appreciated, I’m sure, by everyone!
Cophros (Amaris Nix)
For those who missed the latest stream of Grava, there’s is another sneak peak at the expansion.
I’m telling you guys, it’s Hunter. Those mistborn guys and their nets show us the way. Crossbow’s getting some love.
Can we PLEASE get an Electric relic with Thunderstorm or something similar with an area to it? Suck not having it in my arsenal late-game when I have to switch to another relic with that stupid “10% chance on attack” and playing a ranged caster…
When the exact date of the extension, you can say\declare, dear developers? Like to be remembered, talked about first quarter, so this month, Yes, March? Or is it, as always the transfer, the second quarter, i.e. summer?
10% on attack isn´t stupid at all. Afaik “attack” means anything that deals damage to your enemy. Not just your main damage skill, but anything.
I might be wrong. It happened before.
they never said Q1 it has always been late Q2 or maybe even Q3 if things run longer then expected.
Uhh…
“The expansion is a massive undertaking for our small team, but we currently estimate its release to be in Q1/Q2 of 2017.”
Literally the first page of the thread you’re posting in. “Always been,” sure bud.
I’m expecting we’re going to hear some substantial stuff about the expansion by the end of this month, possibly for a release within the next two/three months. That should be the case if development hasn’t been too bumpy.
Crate never give exact dates. Pretty impossible to really if you think about it, all the testing that needs to be done, unexpected bugs appearing, etc. Just be patient.
Well, they DID say that the expansion would be released between Q1/Q2, but we can already rule Q1 out of the estimated release date for obvious reasons… April is very unlikely for a release date, May probably isn’t as well, since they don’t even seem to have started working on the 8th mastery yet, so expect the expansion to be ready and released on late June… early June if we’re lucky…
But what I’m REALLY concerned is if they’re planning to release the Xbone version along with the PC version, because I’m pretty sure that this would lead to a delayed release, since they still have to work on it, and I will be extremely pissed if this ends up to be the case, and I really hope that the Xbox version isn’t the reason why we’re not getting it earlier…
The expansion’s release has nothing to do with the console port. It depends entirely on when the content is finished, whereas the console version is primarily tech work.
No it was… “but we currently estimate”…not “Will be definitely released then”
And as with everything that all depends on how long it takes to not only finish, but to then deal with any major char killing bugs before being able to release it.
As of now, is Q1 still possible?
Thank you for making this awesome game. You guys are the best!
So I just found out about this console port. I read many mentions of Xbox One, but none of PS4. Is PS4 possibly in the cards at some point? Sorry if this isn’t the right place, but the idea of playing Grim Dawn on consoles is VERY enticing.
PS4 would have to support DirectX 11. And AFAIK, it doesn’t.
I don’t know about PS4 but I remember back in the day for like PS2 and 3 that in general game devs hated developing for Playstation. Something about it being a royal pain in the ass compared to Xbox.
Chances are Sony’s console is still a pain in the ass. Given that, I doubt I’d blame a dev for not wanting to bother.
