I really don’t know about why the bracer was nerfed, but the pants were popular with the OP invincible CT sorc builds that were crushing the new content despite the OA and life leech/steel bugs. I can only imagine part of their toughness was due to that item.
Why should hero and boss monsters be susceptible to life steal attacks but can’t be frozen or stunned?
Also, how come almost all melee skills have weapon damage component built into it (applying additional debuffs and damage coming from a weapon) and yet range skills are falling short? Are range/caster builds that much more dominant and superior compared to pathetically weak melee builds?
I would like to jump the “excessive brightness” band wagon. Some things have been made quite clear (in dungeons), but also I have noticed an eye strain when excessive brightness (due to combination of different lighting sources) hits. Most noticeably, desert and aether areas.
It appears that it’s sonewhat better, but it’s still too bright for me.
If I’m not mistaken, the camera did not change back to the old one. Can we please get someone from Crate to comment on the camera issue?
My Poison Blademaster seems to be running out of energy very quickly in 1.0.0.7. What gives?
Does anyone know the mechanics of why or how the OA for enemies on Ult was so high on patch release? That and the life leech were very interesting “under-the-hood” mechanical changes. I’d love to know how they happened.

I for one like the new lighting changes. Adds more ‘atmosphere’ and especially some times of day (early afternoon, dusk etc) look more realistic imo. There are some situations though where it looks a little bloomy.
Hmm… why nerfing Elixir of Spirit harshly?
does it mean, “Sorcerers, Do not use AAR” ?
or in order to re-balance some no-CD active skills?
if previous AAR wasn’t overpowered, plz consider reducing AAR’s mana usage.
It’s great that they released a hotfix so soon, but unfortunately the game is still too bright.
Some parts are tolerable, but even there it definitely looks as a loss of detail. Homestead in particular.
Other parts are worse - any part with Aetherials is hard to look at, and the glowing plants (or what are they in the first place) in Mountain Deeps are so bright, it hurts my eyes to watch them.
Also, the camera is still overly vertical. No matter how much I tweak it, I can’t achieve the same combination of zoom and angle like it was before the patch.
Dear Crate, please give us the option to return it back to the old setting. This is too significant a change to make it overnight, after people already got used to the old view.
Not specific to the hotfix, but the upgraded chance of unique drops really does seem noticeable. Every other hero drops an epic and I’ve already gotten two legendaries from trash after 3 Valbury and 3 BoC runs plus some Fabius runs.
New lighting with post-processing on burns my eyes, but otherwise it looks much better with the option off as I usually play with.
For the people that find the game too bright:
turn of post processing and lower the gamma a little. The game will look a bit more grim and less shiny, and the xplosions/skill effects will not “blind” you. This can be a temporary solution, hoping in the future Crate will refine this aspect and/or will give us more options to tweak the game lighting.
The lighting looks so much better already, I still think some areas really lost their “charm”.
Haven’t seen the hotfix yet, but the initial isdue was not only related to light.
The game lost texture details and/or particles layer and/or draw distance for particles.
Guys already posted a comparison screenshot that looked like switching graphics settings to lowest possible.
Will check it out once I’m back home.
My guess is that the guys who liked the changes haven’t seen the game on high-ultra settings before 1.0.0.7.
The graphics still look a lot worse than before 1.0.0.7, and I’m not even talking about the brightness.
Absolutely, the screenshots you put make me think ‘‘Red Dawn’’ is a more appropriate title now. It’s way too orange/red…
Also, your screenshots demonstrate just how radical the camera change was. The view is from a much higher position in the second one.
Weren’t some undead on Ultimate made super fast with the 1.0.0.7 update?
Those Undead Knights summoned by Death’s Vigil guys are moving crazy fast now and the same thing happens with some Undead heroes (though that might be normal).
Or maybe I just forgot how fast they were. But I cleared The Tomb of Archon Barthollem pre 1.0.0.7 no problem and now I literally had to flee Fort Haron from all the mobs moving so god damn fast.
Edit: I just tried Elite and even there, Kilrian went from slowpoke to sanic.
I’m playing on Ultra High, with all video configurations on max, and the game looks pretty normal to me.
Seriouisly, you guys are hallucinating.
You’re basing it on that one shot? Have you been to homestead or other areas with a lot of yellowish colors? And that shot of devil’s crossing looks washed out anyway.
Same deal… the graphics looks more alive and that’s all. like I said, you guys are hallucinating or forgot what sunlight looks like.
Now GD ACTUALLY has a sun.
It looks very shiny to me honestly. there are some areas where i can’t even look at the screen. Too much bloom effect or whatever it’s called
Yeah it has a sun but so did grim games like S.T.A.L.K.E.R and they didn’t look like a disney picture
It doesn’t bother me too much, just a bit toned down would be nice
