Grim Dawn Version v1.0.0.8 Preview

Feel free to provide feedback on the Crucible with the circuit breaker changes and we can take a look if it proves those items were the only reliable way to beat for some builds.

I suppose when someone hits like a truck loaded with trucks, adding an axle isn’t very noticeable.

-Actually he was only tickling me most of the fight. And only managed to kill me when he was at 10-15% of his health :).

-Btw did both of Alkamos weapons get a legendary version? Does the same apply to his rings?

-Btw, any reason to remove ADCtH from a T3 constellation?

Haha, right. Kicked the crap out of me before, still kicks crap out of me. No changes noticed.

Relic - Belgothian’s Carnage: reduced Cooldown Reduction from proc to 1s

No plz no. It is a mythical relic after all! Very hard to craft requiring tons of resources, and elite relics… now its granted skill is almost non-existant. Too bad :frowning:

other changes seem goood to me though , thanks!

I follow you - however adding %Phy dmg converted to Vitality on Haunted steel is plain wrong - it makes Phy characters who mostly relied on this to keep themselves alive have 10% reduced dmg (overestimation ofc but you get the idea). Better reduce the % leeched than add this % conversion…(though my CT Chaos/aether Warlock will like it).

On Markovian - please, understand it took me 11 months playing to gather the set - its THAT hard to assemble the 5 pieces end game sets you know it.

In its current form the set is no where near OP (just look at the Shield or Amulet - they are horrible separately). These sets should provide substantial power gain.

Please, re-think the 5 piece bonus - reduce the CD to 3s :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for informations. It looks a bit harsh in some points but Fingers crossed ! Its good that there is a possibility for further adjustments if needed. Thanks.

Legendary - Vileblood Mantle: on the skill proc: removed % Bleed Resist Reduction

We spent many good hours together, but it’s time to say goodbye

Legendary - The Northern Wyrm: added Frostburn damage to skill proc

Incredibly desired change in comparison with attack speed, which in this crossbow as a snail/sarcasm

Nerf… nerf never changes…

Nice changes all around, except for this:

Rare Suffix - Insanity: removed chance to Convert enemies

Does this mean the Control target’s mind for x seconds? If so, all I have to say is: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I never had enough time to design and play a high level build based around “of Insanity’s” mind control that has always been so fun.:(:frowning:

both rings and the scythe

Many wonderful changes! Thank you very much. I can not wait to have fun with new patches!:D

PS.Desmark’s Night Blade will be OP, so it’s probably the next nelf target :p:p:p

Ah! I somehow missed this.

FINALLY!

Now I can make another Battlemage and it won’t be terrible.

@Zantai, just an idea, rather than flat out gut SnB soldier (which you threw the entire kitchen sink at to make viable), try and avoid deleting them in a single patch. Short of perfectly optimal BIS gear, it can already have rather significant issues with clear speed, especially showcased in Port Valbury where it’s dps is lower than the healing rate of the bosses there.

On Mihnir’s Bulwark - physical damage. Perhaps change it to IT? And swap the IT on Oleron’s to flat physical? Swap Shield Training’s physical to IT as well, rather than flat remove. Shield builds were heavily depending on applying as much flat physical amps as they could to apply it over an absolutely insane number of weapon damage multipliers. But they are eating aprox 10-15 nerfs. Considering sheer amount of work you guys took to make people not consider soldier builds a troll thing, seems odd to go back on that now. A massive part of their meta dominance was the OA buffs in ult means you needed tons more DA, and they happened to innately have it. Now you are nerfing them, buffing DA access across the board, nerfing mob physical damage (Although we still don’t know by how much), and nerfing most of the life-save procs.

Pretty sure I can call the meta the moment this patch drops to be DEE witch hunter, sabo, Savagery elementalist, perhaps primal VoS with the new revnant, and that would be replacing the WBs and Commandos. PRM still has shitty single target, and until that is fixed won’t ever really be viable (replacing the electrocute damage on Supercharged to more flat elemental would do a lot for this, even if you make it so it only applies to the initial hit and none further somehow).

I’m just worried, a lot of the squishier builds won’t be saved by +DA, but the massive sweep of nerfs across a lot of sustain and life save procs hurts almost all the builds equally. I’m glad I already didn’t depend on Mark/Tinker on my elementalist, who I’m now going to have to go back to with the gutting of the commando I was working on (Before you say it wasn’t a gutting, he was going pure cunning as a challenge character. He won’t survive losing his damage base damage when his damage was already weak).

You guy’s have been struggling with physical damage for a while now, it may be time to scrap mob armor so that you can make it more consistent, like the other damage types. For a fire build, 50 fire damage going into 50% fire resist leaves 25 damage. For a physical build, 50 physical damage going into 50 armor is 0 damage. Many physical builds do many small hits, rather than just 1-2 really big ones. Armor messes with the small ones more than the big ones, meanwhile, the big ones get a practically free pass thanks to low base physical resistances on most enemies. Especially if you are going to nerf the base access to shield build damage, they need to at least be sure to actually DO some of that damage through the mob armor.

Anyway, moving away from the long ass talk of doom and gloom, I do hope the update is good. Can’t wait to see the new legendaries. Also, will the Port Valbury update ever be added to Crucible? It feels weird that this fairly decent chunk of content isn’t in use for Crucible, but the other two rogue-like dungeon bosses and heros are.

Archivist Thelon can spawn in the Crucible (and could before PV even released, as it happens).

…err…15 damage.

depends on the exact armor absorption value, but yes. I don’t know if they bother using armor absorption on mobs though. Just seems an arbitrary stat to choose to use on them that doesn’t really impact anything, as armor absorption boost on gear are nearly non-existent short of a few legendaries that you will almost never see mobs using. I’d just give them 100% armor absorption and X value of armor call it a day, rather than have to think about it and put it through a multiplier.

ok i will explicitate what everybody is thinking : we want those new legendaries pics!!!

thx a lot. What about stats ?

Psst not so loud - or they will nerf DEE WH in hotfix 1…

Why the attack speed % and health steal nerfs ?!!

I have 2 casting based and both of them are on 200% casting speed, meanwhile never reached the maximum attack speed%, barely 185% and only with blademaster among 3 geared characters based on attack speed%

Adding 10% physical damage convert on Haunted Steel ?! That’s stupid because Haunted steel used mostly on melee for life steal and most melee based on physical damage. With removing life steal from physical/ melee devotions makes it worst. Basically it’s the main option for melee life steal.

Since i play to grim dawn inever answered post to complain. But i feel this patch like another big nerf. I don’t want to argue about this skill/item, but i think it’s not the time to do that kind of nerf.
Extension is coming and most player had cleaned actual content. Doing nerf now just make me want to leave the game until extension…There’s no sense if you want to make us play again just add some content or really buff item/skill that need it…
As you buff an item with something like 10 defensive ability, you murder markovian/overgard/Menhir’s bulwark as same time! WTF!

And remember your game is more single player than multiplayer as there’s no server. Then there’s a time to stop nerf and let player enjoy their “a little more powerful” build if they want.

I’m so disapointed and going back to POE until extension.

P.S. Sorry for my bad english.
