Grim Dawn's First DLC, The Crucible, is now live!

1.0.0.5 update is for all players. The Crucible, which came out the same day, is DLC and is a separate purchase.

FINE. Here’s your DAMN money. :stuck_out_tongue:

When did you buy it? The Kickstarter finished in May 2012 iirc so if it’s after that then no you don’t get it free. If you look at the details for Loyalist yes, it includes the first expansion, but no DLCs are mentioned.

lmao

Just goes to show that no matter how many times Crate posts the particulars (and they posted this more than once) people won’t read the words that they write.

Yea I saw it. I’m good. Bought it. But it isn’t downloading for some reason.

To be fair, PB, the forum search on this site isn’t…the best.

I was looking and rather than reading entire 20 page forum threads, I just asked again. I’m lazy. Sue me.

Ok! Thanx the answer. Now i see, its my fault. I’m not read quite accurately the release notes . Sorry again. In the future i wanted to buy the DLC. Grim Dawn is a very good game!! :stuck_out_tongue:

In all fairness it’s been mentioned in a few major Crate posts as well as reiterated thru many threads posts since they first provided the details.

This very threads OP for starters…

And agreed… I’m not a huge fan of the forum search either.

Reboot Steam and/or verify the cache and it should load.

Yea I’m all good now. thanks.

Based on this post by Zantai, I had the Humble Bundle resend my orders again. I now have The Crucible.

I have not received notice from Humble Bundle regarding the case. I post this for others in the same boat as me. If you are waiting for a notification from Humble, you may want to give your order a second look.

Yeah same for me. No notification, keys were just there at some point.

Nice new game mode “The Crucible”. Good work CRATE.

I also have not been allowed access to The Crucible even though I am an early supporter of the game (Feb. 2010). According to the information I received, I qualify for the DLC, but Humble has nothing for me other than the Steam key for the original game.

Yes I put in a support ticket with Humble, but that should not be necessary if they know I am an early supporter, and they do (they even have my exact support date.). So why am I having to deal with them when everything has been taken care of?

Sweet.

Do i even get this if im a loyalist, or you all pulling semantics on me cause this isnt an expansion?

Sorry, but no you don’t unless you bought it before or during the Kickstarter campaign. The Kickstarter finished on May 19th 2012 so if you bought it after that then it’s not free for you. It’s quite clear in the Loyalist package details that you get the first expansion, but there’s no mention of any DLC being included.

Try the key resender.

ahh thats what i thought. No worries. I figured maybe this is an expansion question mark.

but all goods.

I haven’t found anything regarding this, but probably I just didn’t look hard enough, so please pardon me if this should already have been discussed.
But…

Why is there a “Crucible” button as the topmost button on the left, right above the “Start” button, now? And why the heck is it flashing in red, with red font color?
I don’t have that DLC as, even though I registered here in 2010, I did not buy the game back then and so do not qualify for getting the DLC for free.
I am not very fond of Grim Dawn now going down the DLC road and I am not planning on buying the Crucible DLC.
Maybe this might change, but right now I am just annoyed by that red blinking button, basically yelling at me to click it.

So can we please not have a pulsating red lights button right above the button that you probably click most often?
Now every time I jump from character to character to exchange loot I have to give more attention to where I click lest I accidentally click on that red button which makes my computer switch to my browser, opening the respective Steam webpage, possibly starting the browser first, which may throw me out of the game for 15+ seconds if there’s many tabs to load.
After all I guess that there’s a reason that the “Start” button was the most prominent one.

As I don’t have that DLC I can’t judge if a dedicated button is really needed. I would have thought that you would access the Crucible game mode via the “Main Campaign” button, which could have been renamed to “Game Mode” for this. After all that button is semantically weird anyway - it reads “Main Campaign” and it’s first member is also named “Main Campaign”.
But if for any reason a dedicated button for the Crucible DLC game mode should be necessary - please move it down and let the “Start” button be the most prominent button again. And please stop making the Crucible DLC button stand out that much; at least stop the blinking please.

Sounds more like a bug. Verify your files perhaps. Unless they did decide to advertise it in-game, in which case I’m unaware of it.

It’s also more than just a DLC and is in fact a Kickstarter unlock commitment, free for all backers during and prior to KS.

Perhaps you also find the free content update prior to this and the one we will be receiving after it as well, uncomfortable too?
