Grim Misadventure #108: Introducing...

Flames of Ignaffar
”Hold the Stone of Ignaffar in front of you, unleashing a torrent of flame from the palm of your hand for as long as you channel your will into the artifact.”

Filth infects Cairn with its unsanctioned magic. Purge it with purifying flames. Turn all that oppose you to ashes. But should a darker path entice you, corrupt the flames with Chaos by selecting the transmuter.

So… how about making the transmuter of Albretch Aether Ray convert Fire to Lightning instead of Aether to Chaos? Kappa

no cause all the skills are in the works and whats shown here might not make it in.

Looks awesome. Really hoping the second mastery is not an utterly lame Necromancer-esque crap, give us something unique instead.

I’m guessing Deathmark for the last mastery. Several NPC’s hold that title. Inventor is also a reasonable guess.

I find your lack of faith in the mastery of the dead disturbing

doubtful, legion deathmarks are ranged marksmen, and we’re getting ranged focus with inquisitor, would be hyper redundant at this point to do two ranged masteries. I’m guessing its going to be something cold and vitality based as thats the one spec we have no true focus on.

Oh my god I sexually identify as a grim dawn fanboy

If not this then a Gazer mastery, as you already sarcastically confirmed that on twitch :stuck_out_tongue:

Very nice misadventure can’t wait for the expansion.

I’m half asleep so if read something wrong then whatever but, why all the emphasis on the inquisitor being a female? Especially sense Creed is a dude, and the fact that you can choose between male and female when creating a toon.

I’m leveling a classless char in Crucible just for this baby!

Amazing, guys

In my opinion next class might be some sort of Alchemist, whose skill tree is roughly divided into two “branches”: one is devoted to healing, buffing and empowering himself or allies/minions and the other is used for dealing damage, mostly dot, casting curses and debuffing enemies…

A melee oriented class might be interesting too, though… maybe something like a Ravager, who deals chaos and aether damage, and has skills which increase his power by giving short lasting buffs every time he kills an enemy… or something like this XD

What’s lame about it? It may be derivative, but I have total faith Crate will give it their own flavor.

think its an aesthetic thing as the class art for soldier/demo/nb/occ are all male and now arc shaman and inquis are female (and the inquisitor with the exception of the hat(nothin giving em valdun’s hat cant fix) looks really nice). would love to see a female necro would look like in GDs art style

Agreed with this.

Omg D’alema!!!

Because it already exists in the game, it’s called Occultist. Even more lame when there’s Raise the Dead constellation skill.

So no, i don’t want another damn summoner class. Give us something new.

Oh, let’s not forget, a Necromancer being able to join Kymon’s Chosen. That totally doesn’t break lore.

Grim Dawn AKA The #1 ARPG ever made! PERIOD!

All it needs is CRATE.NET!!! CMONNNNNNNNNN!!!

Kickstart crate.net I guarentee the playerbase will pay for the servers!

Occultist is way more warlock than necromancer…

As for breaking lore, I doubt every necromancer ever prescribes to whatever ideaology Death’s Vigil believes in. I’m sure Kymon can justify using a necromancer to achieve his ends to his followers.

Edit: also want to point out that occultist isn’t a “summoner class.” It is a very versatile mastery just like all the others, where summoning is one of the things it does. I would expect necromancer to have many other functions besides just summoning. Plus many people who play summoners feel like there needs to be more support for that playstyle in general, so necromancer is an obvious way to achieve that.

I hope the Inquisitor has some skills that deal piercing damage.

Every class except Nightblade and Occultist has more than one way of dealing Physical damage. Only classes except Nightblade that can deal piercing damage is the Demolisitionist and the Soldier which are terrible in terms of synergy. Soldier skills are redundant with the Nightblade’s and Demolitionist skills are incompatible in terms of damage types.

This game needs more piercing skills/transmuters.

Awesome wallpaper… hope it gets slipped into the loading screen art even before expansion release (or a version of)… hinthinthint ;0

Proof that no matter what happens there will always be “that one guy”.

Are kymon’s also technically necromancers as they bring that quest spirit back from the dead. The game even has a dialogue option on a kymon leader you can choose to accuse them of being a necromancer.
