So glad xmog is being implemented in the same fashion as how it works in D3. For all the hate D3 gets, they absolutely killed it in this department.
Not a huge fan of transmog but there is a ton of people that are asking for it.
My guess at the new mastery: Bloodmancer
Blood Mage
Boars confirmed!
…
oh, wait…
Can you really have an FAQ before any questions have the chance to be frequently asked?
Does the illusionist require the expansion to use? A bit of the wording seems to imply that that’s the case but I recall you guys being wary about that sort of thing.
Not buying unless there’s a zentai transmog.
Illusionist.
That means he creates illusions, as in “fake” vision.
Example: I have a Toyota, but I want to drive a Ferrari, so I go to an illusionist and he will put a spell on me so I will see my Toyota as a Ferrari. It is still a Toyota, and I know that, but I see it as a Ferrari because I have an illusion.
Shouldn’t this ‘illusionist’ be something like a ‘esthetic smith’ or ‘prestige smith’ or something? A smith that enhances the visual of the items.
Illusions seem temporary, or a trick to the mind rather than a modification to an item.
The only thing i liked from a certain game so really happy we get our own version! Malfet has a great point though! Same as eralduspr! Also i think psycook is much better than necroblood! I can just see aether forks appearing from nowhere to skewer chthonians and using dual ulgrim’s frying pans!
I won’t lie, this GM…meh.
This is a feature straight out of Diablo 3 one of which I never use. So in grim dawn it’ll be there fine but no interest in playing barbie dress up in my games.
Devotion points new cap??
Will levels 86-100 be more of a grind to get as end game goals or will they be fast to get to? Will thise levels award stat points? Still two skill points or down to 1 or none?
Guess I’ll wait till march 6th for hopefully a more interesting update but if dress up is your thing guess this looks great.
13 new items is my final count. Not counting the npc and players new gear is the first pick. I really love the creepy new shields!
Although I don’t consider transmog a big priority for me I am surprised to see you Crate guys never rest and never dissapoint. Looking forward new things you have in store for us. GD is looking better than ever.
Yes, this. So much this.
Maybe if we move the cursor over the item, it shows the stats and all that and then it would have a second window showing the applied cosmetic item’s image.
The icon only changes in the Illusionist’s UI so you see what it was turned into. Outside of it, the default icon is used.
I didnt notice any barbie dress in grim dawn…
You mean that the Ritual Circle in the screen looks very similar to the one the Player starts in - the circle is drawn by the SPIRIT GUIDE.
I knew it!!!
It’s called an analogy don’t take things so literally or personally.
I can’t properly put into words how pleased and excited I am for this system. I really like the gear in the game, but it always looks like our wardrobe vomited on our characters. Everything is always mismatched for most of the game and having a single piece of some of the more stylized armor looks extremely out of place and clownlike being worn with others. Having a great looking character is super important to me so I really love that you are adding this.
I hope this is a joke. A major tech feature? a Barbie dress up?!
How about a proper MP with servers?
Glimpse, the two circles are not similar. You can see the “starter” circle has a triangle in the middle, the “new” circle doesn’t have that. The new circle has an inner circle which is decorated with greek style drawings, the starter circle doesn’t have that. Both circles have rune words, or rune letters, runic writing, they differ quite a lot, the starter circle has more ‘roundish’ letters, similar to Arabic writing, while the new circle has more ‘edgy’ letters, similar to Korean or Chinese writings.
Well, spank me with a tortoise. This looks awesome!
