Grim Misadventure #115: Dressed to Necromance

Lul this set seems broken… Needs to take the +necromancer skills off and add sth like +1 hungering swarm or +1 BWC (skill that r useless). Adding too much +skill to a specific class is unacceptable and promote spamming specific items making the game unbalanced in the process .Im sicking tired of Deathmark and Ultos spammers running wild on the streams. Releasing such a ridiculous set will literally kill the game…
“Bring balance to the Force, not leave it in darkness!”

Grim Dawn - And You Thought It Couldn’t Get Much Greener

Are the swag sunglass a bonus provided by 5/5 set or it gonna be on the helm alone ?

Grim Dawn - Electric Boogaloo

Kill it for who exactly? Remember we are talking about a game largely made and balanced for single-player. Compound this with you are making a lot of rushed assumptions in that sentence alone that seem to forget the level cap / devotion increase, new enemies and bosses, that are in the mix.

I’m gonna name my Hippie Necromancer - “The Big Urobowksi”…

and I wan’t a wand/focus in the shape of a Bowling Ball!!

and we need text options where we can respond with “The Necro abides!!”

Dejnov.

Thx for sharing, i dreamt about expansion too. I feel better now than i know i’m not the only fool out there.

In my dream i was an inquisitor with something similar to shadow strike as mobility skill. I was teleporting on enemies, placing traps and make a big boom.

What Freud would think about that^?

I assume you haven’t seen the Arcanist set.

…also I don’t even remember the last time I saw someone running Ultos. Is that set even good anymore?

(The Necro set is definitely overpowered as it stands, but not because of +skills; that granted skill is ridonculous)

ah so i see

Normal
Magical
Rare
Epic
-Empowered Epic
Legendary
-Mythic Legendary

this correct?

Now it is.

Ah so we might see a Mythical Epic Praetorian Set?

I like the delivery of this misadventure, yes I do! But please add an illusion so that we can have Thug Unlife glasses too.

And in terms of badassery, just how much more badass do you conservatively estimate the necro to be compared to the honest demolitionist?

Ive really been hoping that the necro is going to bring with it a design revamp of sorts that allows for viable hybrid builds between pet and player strength. This set doesnt seem to foster that, but im hoping others will. With pet based procs on gear and devotions that require the player to kill enemies, the “all or nothing” nature of successful pet builds leaves a little something to be desired. Personally, I think it would be best to just make all pets scale off of player stats, but the pet discussion is for another thread.

Suffice to say, Im excited for the new content, and aesthetically, this is the coolest set crate has made.

“All or nothing” nature of successful pet builds?
Somebody’s been living under a rock.

I thought you people already decided on the name “Grimmer Dawn”. If that won’t work, how about “Grimmer Twilight?”

Ok then 47 new sets to store in my stashes.
Need to hire some mules staff

great legends and nice notice 47 new legs but I need more stash, please

Ive never seen a hybrid pet build that could really hold its own in the endgame. I’d love to be shown one, if youve found one that works for you.

The way they have it now they’d have to add a lot more pet bonus stats to items for hybrid pet builds to be more worthwhile due to the large separation of pet and character damage which can be harder to combine in high quantities.

That or indeed make them all scale with player bonuses which would take a lot more changes to both pets and itemization.

Thats my thinking precisely. Pets require a lot of bonuses to be more than just distractions for enemies, and you PC suffers at that expense. Pet builds are undeniably strong, i just wish that I could make one where my PC did more than just cast a few spells to maintain uptime on my procs.

Also, I feel like the skill point burden for getting the pets skills should be lessened. Pets like the Ognapseh Revenant and Chillmane that you get from items have a full skill loadout built in, so I feel like the raven, the hound, and the briar should have a similar treatment.
