Grim Misadventure #135: Quality of...Sets

Excellent news… playing pure self found with no stash tools or stash sharing I might get to see my first complete set in almost 5 years of playing

Sure thing, bro… let me go out of my self-found playstyle, just because you don’t like this feature.

And didnt realise that…dont have anything against self found playing…i dont really have the time to still play like that…if i would have…i probably would…

But remember…u are not alone in the world…neither in the game world  if u dont find ur item in 4k hours of play…u might think too much of it…and ruin the luck u have to find it at a quantum level in reality…or maybe…just my opinion…
Waiting for an item for u to find it on urself and it takes 3 months maybe and by then a new patch comes with new items…u might find those…forget about what u wanted before…and never even had the time to enjoy that full set u farm for…or the specific item…

Finally, Darkblaze Source shall elude me no more. Very nice addition.

Not everyone likes to trade or play MP or be made to go in to MP to facilitate a trade. The people who like to trade… can. And can do this as well (or not if they don’t want). Those of us who don’t want to trade for set pieces now have this as an option (and if they’d rather farm for thousands of hours for it… well, you can still do that too).

Holy molly. This is the part where I start saving up every single extra Legendary piece.

Dynamite it! It’s a nice source of AoM components.

Already saving one shot chests in several characters for the upcoming sets. And if i get some copies of some of the items from the new sets, then i can just use the item set transmuter in FG.

Not really. I rarely get mutagens and wendigo spirits. Just a lot of the older materials like hearts. I do get Ugdenblooms every now and then, but Ugdenbloom is so easy to get nowadays (please let it stay this way, even with the reduced costs in crafting i run out of these bastards all the time).

There are people who do have thousands of hours logged on Grim Dawn farming for Legendaries and still don’t have complete sets. This is for helping to ease that by giving you the chance to reroll the piece to hopefully the set piece you’re still missing.

So Kadala got fired from D3 and is coming to Grim Dawn…while I fit into the can’t find blueprints ever category or the few pieces I’ve never found, I’m not a fan of arpgs having a gamble to win function. Doubt I’ll use it as the crucible at least involves some work and some excitement when the all the worthless purple suddenly drops one of need.

Where’s the gamble to win function, this isn’t really any different from crafting and just having a full set isn’t something that will make an otherwise naff char unbeatable.

Looks great. Features like this add a ton to the game. Glad my OCD still makes me pick up polished emeralds.

Yesss, this will be very useful. I cannot even count how many sets I have uncompleted - and many more where I have not even found one piece of them yet.
And I see we have some new crafting material to use for this… some green goo?
Frankly I feel you could increase the cost in Polished Emeralds to a lot more than 1. I have like 350 of the things now in my shared stash, and nothing to use them for…

as opposed to simply having RNG that can give you the item you are looking for now or in 1000 hours ? Not sure I see much of a difference here…

I’m assuming transmutation will work for epics (that belong to a set) as well, but at lower transmutation costs.

Any chance of a sufficiently large stash to make it so we don’t need a mod?

This is great news for new players, and even for long time players that just can’t get that last item to drop. I think this is a robust solution to an issue that can exacerbate frustrations. Nice.

Its a good feature. I only play hardcore so I always lose some items when I die. And Grim Dawn is missing some deterministic farming. This will help

I remember on the olden days, way before AoM, my first full legendary set was Ulzuin’s (I’ve played a Witchblade almost exclusively at the time), and that was after over 600 hours into the game playing solo. That made me level a Sorcerer to use it and try to farm more efficiently. I remember having like 5 or 6 Markovian Bullwarks and no other piece of that set…

ahhhh…

and I have actually finished quite a few sets through trading last week…

but this is really good feature for people who are doing the “true” single player … good add…
