Very interesting addition. Reduces some of the challenge, but all in all I think it makes the game more fun. A lot of those full set skills are super interesting and don’t often see the light of day. I will be curious to see if there are any additions to MI farming as well.
Also, I would have loved to hear Crate debate about this internally. I could imagine not everyone was in favor, but who knows.
How does it not involves work if you trade in an Item which you worked for, to randomly another Item either of the same set or another? Let alone the Mats and Iron you need…
What i quite find funny is the "Gamble to win"argument, while the Genre in and itself is purely based on RNG…
I’ve played for 420 hours the past few weeks, and I only completed krieg set. The only reason being that it can be targeted. So altough I’m fond of challenging loot grind, the fact that it is completely random was bothering me a bit.
Farming, getting a random piece, and then some components farming to supplement it to be able to transmute that piece into another random one that will be of use is quite a nice addition in my book.
There is indeed the trade market on the forums but … well, I’m a single player to the bone and like to find my stuff by myself.
Thank you for that feature. And please don’t compare that to Kadala, this is really disrespectfull ^^.
But can we please get unlimited stash or like 50 more stash tabs or something? I honestly dont see a reason why limit us. Unless there is, in which case could you explain why?
It’s just that it’s super annoying to use external tools. So easy to lose stuff, because you can forget to backup all the files when reinstalling OS, or the game or something else. Whereas in steam cloud there’s no problems at all, can play on multiple PCs etc. Dont even have to worry about anything like that.
I switched recently to grim assistant, but it’s just too easy to lose stuff. Sure it’s no problem when you play grim dawn regularly, but if you quit for a few months and come back, you forget stuff.
This has been explained fully by Medierra quite some time ago, I doubt I can find the post, but basically it’s because having an unlimited stash can result in some players spending more time faffing about with the stash than playing the game as it’s far too easy to just keep dumping possibly useful bits in the stash and end up spending ages trying to clear all the crap out.
Agreed. This is nothing even like Diablo III’s Horadric cube, where you needed to grind Bounties and get reagents that you can then waste to see if MAYBE you can get a duplicate turned into another item from the same set. Here it will be much simpler, which I am happy for, since if there is anything I hate in ARPGs it is mindless grind. I like to be able to find stuff while playing naturally.
And yeah, I know maybe 2 friends of mine who play the game, but we don’t trade either. It detracts from the joy of finding an item if it is just sort of thrown into my lap… same reason why I don’t use any editing software to cheat and get me stuff.
Btw, I noticed there don’t seem to be many blueprints for shoulders or gauntlets… or is it just my bad luck in finding them?
If it gets ones juices flowing it can’t be bad, they just enjoy the game bit differently than Crate had in mind.
Havin something to transform the trash into iron WOULD BE a QoL thing since I’m always out of iron and hauling EVERYTHING to merchant gets old fast.
It;s not the time spent in arranging it. PPL spend more time in grimtools than GD itself already:). It could cause performance issues among other things.
I am glad that developers with time increase drop chance (BL2) or add mechanics like this, allowing players complete what they want. Keep it up, Crate.
“Reduces some of the challenge”…Challenge and grind are two very different aspects of a game. It’s not “challenging” to spend dozens, hundreds, or thousands of hours hunting down 1 randomly dropped item out of a pool of thousands. Excepting, perhaps, if you consider that it’s challenging one’s patience.
i hope there will be a feature that we can melting down for ex. 5 epics for 1 random new one or 3 legs for 1 random leg… i have alot of items and the dismantle option is to expensive to do so… min 1 explosive… no way. also i think the npc in the tyrants hold can be deleted… alot more quests have to implemented to introduce such features… the ending of malmouth was so bad noone said ,hey you killed the boss bro, and ulgrim stands in front of the cave… … maybe a little more love to the story and connections
if you say quality of life, go back and polish some old quests too… put faction and city icons to the map and if you progress in the story unlock all smiths and features to all big city like devils crossing
It’s a really nice idea, not too powerfull (limited to sets only), and in the end not that far from the special smiths.
Didn’t know what to do with my thousand crystals and my millions of iron bits.
I’m up to about 600hrs now and I have no complete legendary sets but I do have 7 complete Mythical Corruptor’s and 6 Mythical Eastern sets. Until the expac comes and then I’ll have exactly one of each
