not surprising since the entire ragnarok looks bad compared to base game and Immortal throne. New developers hurt the game imo. Asgard looks like cartoon graphics. rainvow bridge included. dialogue all sucks.
Crate however is at least good quality.

It has it’s good parts and it’s bad parts. They’ve been taking lessons from Crate with some of the more open areas - very Ugdenbog like in having to weave your way through some of them. I’ve only been through Act V twice with a long gap between visits so still not au fait on the best routes yet.
Devoured by its rage for sure.
Impossible, necromancer will always be the best.
Yeah, my thoughts exactly. Wonder how many more deaths my L100 Conjurer’s going to clock up trying to cope with the “shattering” new game mode.
Wow. I can’t wait to play this.
was thinking the same thing
I do wish that the end boss is with the “celestial” tag (at least in Ultimate) or in case you fail a quest to “weaken” him.
I do wish it is the Eldritch Sun (would make sense obviously as all the build up so far alludes to that).
I do honestly pray that Crate doesnt throw in some random boring B/C grade character (looking at you Theodin Marcell) as the final boss!
Theodin Marcell wasn’t random, he’s alluded several times in the base game for being responsible for a lot of the stuff Aetherials had done prior to the game. I would have been disappointed if he wasn’t the final boss of AoM. Plus his fight is a million times better than Log.
Love the Giant’s Causeway areas with the basalt pillars; those are a great addition. Is this a clue that the hills have giants?
Hell yeah…That Ragnarok screen looks like garbage and I’m not usually one to be too picky about graphics. It could have certainly been done much better.
The FG screens look outstanding, all of them, even the outside ones some are griping on.

if u all played Ragnarok it is even worse looking in game:D
Having played Ragnarok, it doesn’t look too bad - the lighting can sometimes be a bit flat, but the environmental details are pretty nice. At times it looks better than the original TQ, imo. That lava-ry area does look pretty crap though, yeah. Mind you, I’m pretty sure the brightness in that image has been upped, which isn’t doing it any favours.
(not sure how off-topic we’re getting right now  )
Either way, GD lava = best lava. Now just imagine if it appears as an even more dangerous variant of aether floor.
Well sure, make it realistic too. Apparently death by lava is far far worse than we see in the movies….for science
On Theo`s fight mechanics, music, atmosphere - all is indeed top notch!
However from Lore importance point of view - AoM last boss should have been at least one of the Council of Five or ideally the whole council - they are the one orchestrating the Cairn invasion and the atrocities there. IT would have given a proper closure to the whole Aetherial invasion thing (and depending on if you had Anesteria friendly, and you saved that aetherial guy in FLeshworks (and maybe few others) they could join you in the final battle (and if you fight the 5 alone it would be ultra hard to beat)?
While Theodin is just some high level henchman of the aetherials - he isnt one of the heads behind all that - and his motivation and character are not interesting (at least to myself). I would even say probably Van Aldritch with a bit more lore behind/notes would be more interesting due to maybe even corrupted he had some feelings towards his girl/child if he kept them alive/unspoiled somehow - would have made a good tragic story.
Log battle i wish it was reworked - he is the damn Chtulu and all the build up behind him, the lore - bring him on par as of a demi-god/celestial level.
Or maybe its just that everything Chtonic i find ten times more interesting vs aetherial stuff
but i see a lot of people prefer more Chtonic stuff (probably because it more resembles Diablo 1 in terms of feeling/vibe) and also because Chton is after all kind of The God of GD and his story sounds to be tragic as well (killed by his children etc).
Lets hope FG does better than Crate expects and if not XP3 at least they give us some small Lore DLCs to come up.
^^I like your points. Only GD 2 can maybe allow us to fight circle of 5. Now as one commented fighting a celestial being is me thinks appropriate for forgotten gods theme. I would not be surprised if we fight a holy angel looking creature and when phase 2 comes it turns out to be a diablo looking guy wrapped in lava
but honestly at the end I want the ending boss area not fought in lava as it would become ragnarok like which is bad. Forgottrn gods deserve its own maybe a battle atop the clouds or in a high mountain open air. And yyou fight alongside the witch god with whom you chose to ally with and the witch god gets Ulgrimed , leaving you to bear the burden alone.
I thought you didn’t want Typhon like boss/fight:D
It’s an exact description of TQ act 3 end boss area:p
Also given the themes of sands and tombs and underground Lava I would be really surprised if we find ourselves atop a mountain at any point
well all I wanted was a breath of fresh air for GD. all we have is underground boss battles. But point is anything but lava would be good. My hatred for ragnarok is getting the best of me thats why.
Do you think a Typhon like enemy is good? I wont mind anymore but importance here is how they will add mechanics to make it intersting and same time unique
I think Theodin Marcel fits perfectly as the final boss of AoM. He was responsible for a lot of things in the part we visited. The Erulan empire is probably just a small part of the world of Cairn. It would not make sense for the circle of five to be present at Malmouth. They are likely in the capital or at least one of them, planning the further invasion of Cairn.
You will get the fresh air of an Oasis, the damp air of underground and searing air of lava/desert areas.
