Grim Misadventure #191 - Energized

Have you taken your Grim Misadventures today? Last time, we unveiled the reroll mechanism coming with Fangs of Asterkarn. With it, you will be able to take your imperfect loot and try to make it perfect, and that includes the seed on unique items! Today, we have news from the art team regarding a new style of weapons we have developed. Let’s take a look at all the colors of the energy weapon rainbow!

Note: as always, everything you are seeing today is in active development and subject to change. Nothing is set in stone until it is. Unless it is a Stonehand Behemoth. That one is set in stone.

Once we had the details sorted out, we knew we wanted to get you swinging these energy weapons in game. And you can see why! We shared a teaser of the energy spears in action recently.

Axes

Daggers

Swords

Tempestborn

You can expect to find the new weapons in a variety of ways. The means to craft some of these will be taught to you as you befriend the Kurn. Others, like the spears, will drop from unique sources. And with so many colors to choose from, you can be sure they will support a variety of playstyles; but even if none of their attributes appeal to you, you can still play the most important game of all: fashion!

On a side note, we recently shared this little tidbit on social media that you might enjoy. This polish to our item tooltips is coming in the future to all versions of the game!

I love the new items, but oh man, another month without a release date

Love the tooltip! Not only having the icons but less text (cause the skill name isn’t repeated for each mod) makes it way easier to read.

50% Chance on Attack to extend duration of Deadly Aim by 3 Seconds to Necrotic Edge

To be clear…you’re not getting the release date in our regularly schedule dev updates. When we are ready to share the release date, it will come as its own standalone news post.

I hope the tooltip update includes the fix to display modifiers to secondary skills, such as Torrent, Spectral Wrath, etc.

I really liked the new weapons with the new effects, I think the game was really prescising that, very good master Z.

is that red transmog set in FoA, or do I have to buy a Loyalist Pack for that?

Wait, I thought that secondary skills can’t be modified (e.g. conversion in an item skill modifier for a skill doesn’t apply to its secondary)?

When has this fix ever been mentioned to be happening? As far as i know you can’t still have mods to secondary nodes like Heart of Wrath.

it works, vanilla just don’t do that for reasons…

Nice tooltip update. I strongly recommend that you should also group skill bonuses into respective class sections for better comprehension, like Arcanist: + 3 Albrecht’s Aether Ray, + 2 Trozan’s Sky Shard, etc.
