Right I forgot about that with the Cyclops club scaling down.
I guess it could work though I’m not sure if GD has claw weapons.

Looks like we have our first (actually second) expansion weapon type!
I recall reading in eisprinzessin’s Game Features section how med said he wants to add in whips at some stage, so having claw weapons in an expansion as well doesn’t sound like it would be too crazy of an idea. Something to think about for the future.
Oh man, the trolls look incredible. Superb job! Can’t wait to run into them.
I’m liking the sound of the new loot setup Zantai. As someone who suffered the wrath of the RNG gods, a smoothing of the drop distribution sounds very good.
Thanks for the update!
While I was a hoping for more on the Arcanist class, I got trolls and half trolls.
Big trolls with big clubs to hit me! Half trolls with antlers!
The trolls do look very impressive!
I think an Arcanist will be needed to battle them!
Awesome artwork guys… kudos!
They look amazing!
Hi guys.
Hell that’s looking Excellent,
I think Grim Dawn need more Character Wizard (Lazarus) Zombies,
perhaps many mass smaller goblin-like jump from the walls.
Maybe Trigger_animation surprised attack and freeze screen in storytelling.
Have fun at work, keep it up good works!
Great design on these trolls!
would love some info on the arcanist myself, as we not really seen much of this elusive class so far, come on crate, show us somethong of this class please!
still, the NB will make do until then:D
There isn’t that much to tell about the Arcanist at the moment. It is just a collection of prototype skills at the moment and notes in a spreadsheet. It won’t really come together until I get into it more seriously.
The majority of our efforts are currently focused completing Act II and I expect that will be the case for the next month or two. We’re hoping to have it first-pass complete by the end of November and then release it in Dec or Jan.
I’ll probably get back into Arcanist toward the end of the month and there may be more news about it in Jan.
What I can tell you though about the vision for the class is that it will be a more pure caster centered around high-damage spells and magical defenses. Currently on the drawing board are an elemental chain attack, aether ray, magic missile type projectile, sphere of protection, wizard’s trap (similar to what the Warden drops)… wait a minute… does the Warden still drop those? Hmm, I don’t remember seeing them recently…
The Warden doesn’t drop any kinda of trap. If he did perhaps that might make the fight a little more interesting.
Anyways, good to have a bit of knowledge when it comes to the approximate dates for certain things.
I hope things go well
I’m probably oblivious, but I don’t remember the Warden dropping any kind of trap. Probably because I was too busy running for my life. lol
Seriously though. What does the skill look like?
Ok, good. I’m not going crazy. Maybe medierra is working on something that he thought he made live, but really didn’t? lol
You can see them in this video, which proves that you must actually be going crazy. They were working when we released alpha. I’m not sure when they stopped working. As I was writing about the Arcanist traps, it made me remember that the Warden used to drop traps.
Oh, holy crap. I do remember those now. I think the last time I remember them is when you could lead the Warden out of his room, which was a long time ago.
Definitely don’t remember seeing them since I became a play tester.
Not sure who is crazy besides perhaps the Warden because I honestly don’t remember the Warden using that ability since playing the Alpha.
However it HAS been awhile so perhaps in the beginning he could have used that trap skill, though right now I can’t remember anything of that nature.
Hey just a couple of questions on the arcanist concept. Will he be primarily an Aether plus all elemental damage type character or will he focus mostly on the aether damage affix? The reason I ask is that I like how the demolitionist is focused on fire/lightning damage and firearms. It would be cool to see a cold/summoner type of class al la spirit/storm from TQIT.
In the current set up for grim dawn allowing masteries to go to 50 with the appropriate selection of skills almost makes them feel as two TQIT masteries together in one (or at least 1.5). So far in grim dawn playing a dual mastery class focuses a lot on picking the group of skills that defines my concept as opposed to needing or letting the two TQIT masteries totally define my character. It may be due to getting so much more damage types or getting all types of skills (single target, crowd control, aoe, etc.) from a single mastery, but so far the best characters I’ve got focus on one core mastery and just use the other for a couple skills/synergies. I know from TQIT most masteries didn’t feel self contained; you needed that other mastery to add needed skills to make a viable class.
Dejnov.
The warden doesn’t use his ranged attack very often since B13 (and perhaps B12).
This fight is more dull than in the past, imho.
Love the new monsters and I’ll be eagerly awaiting B15. Great job, thank you.
Like everything else in Grim Dawn (creature design, skills, sound, etc.) so far, the art direction and monster creation is simply breathtaking.
You guys should be really proud of what you are creating – keep up the great work!
